Gallen! I thought Simmonds played ok . He gets better every week and has to stay in.

I dont think Merrit went that bad! He didnt have a great game but he only made one mistake and did what he had to do the rest of the time. If he was going to be replaced I think Saleh is the man, we need speed on the wing something Franze lacks.

Peachey last night was outstanding. He has a hand in almost every try and was solid as ever at the back cleaning up on numerous occassions. My 3-2-1 is;

3. Peach
2. Stevo
1. Hilder

2.5 Brett Kimmorley because he did little wrong. Yes no good with the goalkicking but I think this is the first game he has been recorded as no missed tackles. He defended very well and plugged many gaps as he did for Country. General kicking better too

2.5 David Peachey because he did what he is out there to do, play footy with the ball. I don't count his 2 missed tackles because I don't reckon either player he missed should of gotten as far as Peachey anyway. Missing Slater 1 on 1 is no crime

1 Paul Gallen because his workrate was Nutleyish in an unfamiliar role. Obvioulsy picked at 5/8 for a purpose and made 35 tackles and 22 HU for 153m Not that I reckon he'll stay there but he got an offload as well which rates a mention for me as our other 6's arent getting any

On Merritt he was there by default and simply carried his poor second grade form into the game.

We have an issue to resolve with the wingers

Standouts for me were:

Noddy - With the exception of his awful goal kicking, his game was top shelf.

Peach - Having FUN, and doesn't it show. That early try he set up for Bails put him in the right mood for the rest of the game.

Hilder - Mr Versatile does it for us again. Good, solid runner and a great support player. Reads the game very very well, for a young bloke.

Nutley - How GOOD is this bloke when he keeps his cool? I have been his harshest critic for his ill-disciplined play, but hell, when his temper is left in the sheds he's a bloody fine front-rower.

Stevo - Back to the forward leader we expect. And he did it against some pretty tough, old heads in Kearney, Howe and company. And to back up...Onya big fella.

Bailey - The Fox commentators said that playing in the centres was robbing Bails of a chance to really perform - And I agree. Put him back in the second row. Let him show what he can do in the next week or so, to bring him back into the Origin Bench frame.

Gallen - A playmaker? Wonders never cease. A good job last night.

And these young blokes - Merritt, Williams x 2, Simmons - They did OK in my book. They aren't game breakers yet, and we can't expect them to be. But they are looking good!

So, my 3/2/1...

3. Peachey. Welcome back, champion!
2. Noddy. If he could kick a bit more consistently, he'd get the 3, no doubt. Either that, or give the job to someone else, Nods.
1. Nutley. My heart says Stevo, but my head says give credit where it's due.

So there it is!

Thanks champ.
Gallen, hasn't Raper had an open mind with him!!!!!
I rate Gallen, if he can keep 'em down. Better attacker than I gave him credit for maybe.
Paging left centre, will a left centre please stand up.
