Standouts for me were:
Noddy - With the exception of his awful goal kicking, his game was top shelf.
Peach - Having FUN, and doesn't it show. That early try he set up for Bails put him in the right mood for the rest of the game.
Hilder - Mr Versatile does it for us again. Good, solid runner and a great support player. Reads the game very very well, for a young bloke.
Nutley - How GOOD is this bloke when he keeps his cool? I have been his harshest critic for his ill-disciplined play, but hell, when his temper is left in the sheds he's a bloody fine front-rower.
Stevo - Back to the forward leader we expect. And he did it against some pretty tough, old heads in Kearney, Howe and company. And to back up...Onya big fella.
Bailey - The Fox commentators said that playing in the centres was robbing Bails of a chance to really perform - And I agree. Put him back in the second row. Let him show what he can do in the next week or so, to bring him back into the Origin Bench frame.
Gallen - A playmaker? Wonders never cease. A good job last night.
And these young blokes - Merritt, Williams x 2, Simmons - They did OK in my book. They aren't game breakers yet, and we can't expect them to be. But they are looking good!
So, my 3/2/1...
3. Peachey. Welcome back, champion!
2. Noddy. If he could kick a bit more consistently, he'd get the 3, no doubt. Either that, or give the job to someone else, Nods.
1. Nutley. My heart says Stevo, but my head says give credit where it's due.
So there it is!
