3- RTS. I don't want to do it. But he is so bloody superb

2- Kata- such a massive improvement. And a pass!

1- Green- kicking game on point.

HM- Maumalo, Fusitu'a, Hiku, Keighran, Afoa

Most of the forwards were good.

3. Kata
2. Hiku
1. Ken.

Hon mentions Tohu AK and Burr.

It's not easy swapping sides of the feild and changing partners.

Those guys defence was excellent.

3 Adam Keighran - Shaun who?
2 Blake Green - controlled the game well, great kicking and vision
1 Nat - welcome back. Good fast efficient service and great support try.

HM. All the forwards, all the backs.
Sorry to be a misery guts, but same 3 players from last year look like they are going to piss me off again this year. Kata, Jazz, Lisone. Others will say they played well and Kata obviously finished off tries fine but if you were watching the same game as me you will know what i am referring to.
I'll leave it at that. We will see who is right or wrong at the end of the season. Happy to eat humble pie if i'm wrong.

So... errrr. What now? Jazz had a couple of errors. But in what world did Kata and Lisone do anything but a good job?

I gave everyone in the team an HM if you check, but i have high aspirations for this team.

I didnt think i needed to get into specifics but its the same issues as last year.
Kata - cant pass. The one pass he made, he was standing still. The only other time he attempted to pass in motion, it was neck height and behind Fus who had to slow to catch, ruining the overlap. Running out of the line as per 2018. Dumbf**k errors. Couldnt play the ball correctly on his first hitup. Giving unnecessary penalties away. I want him to be better than he currently is. Is that too much to ask for?
Lisone - fine game to start with. but then he started to slow the team up, was hanging around the ruck to receive the ball on 4th tackle then took an eternity to play the ball on 2 separate occasions, completely ruining our momentum, especially the second time when we were in their 20.
Jazz - hes a tacklebot. thats it. wish he would leave the playmaking to our playmakers! We had done great work to get 10m out and if he had just taken the tackle, rather than try to pop a miracle ball. (sound familiar from 2018?) Green or Keighran were in great position to release our real weapons or even get a repeat set. Plus his service was noticeably slower from dummy half, so hes not a good option at hooker. Hopefully Luke will be back next week.

I’m sorry. But I absolutely can’t agree with a single word of that. It sounds very preconditioned to me. They played fine.

Kata had one error, one penalty and one missed tackle....bit rough on him imo.
No ones calling him the best centre in the comp but he played very well, made some good defensive reads and passed the ball a few times. I don't know what game you were watching haha.
Lisone? Wasn't on the field long at all but what I saw I liked. Ran hard, tackled hard and made no errors and gave no penalties away.
Tevaga did okay, more of what we expect of him. Tried a bit hard sometimes, made a few errors which killed momentum.

That happens sometimes tho right? Roache's pass to RTS was a bit of a coach killer but I see you over looked that and gave him the 1?

Really hard- for the right reasons.
I know RTS and Green ran the show and Bunty and Paasi got us on the front foot and the rest were all good, but I am going to give points to:
3. Ken. What a difference a couple of years has made. SK had faith in him and he is repaying in spades.
2. Adam. Got better as the game went on. A real talent.
1. Nat. What a come back after a year of recovery. Really got the team moving.

That was a good performance - the Dogs were never in it.
The post SJ era has started.

I can’t remember Lisone playing better in a long time
Pretty much round one last year when he scored that really excellent try hitting a hole off Green.

Not a lot since then.

Dudes looking bigger as are they all.

Our team looked enormous today, which feels strange against a dogs team.

The big Warriors on old boys day wearing our traditional strip he he.

Everyone played pretty well and were to some degree unlucky to not get points apart from Aysh (who didn't really have much of an opportunity) and Jazz (much more than a tacklebot, that's a stone cold take - he adds a point of difference to our play in the forwards... and does it with some smarts, rather than Lisone-ing it up), just had too many mistakes in him today.

Kata's defensive decisions will get punished by a better team, though - was the reason I dropped him out of the 1 point spot.

His first three weeks were really good last year. He made a long break against the Tits and had two pivotal charges in the last two or three minutes against Canberra (the rest of his game was good, it wasn’t just those minutes). Then he got suspended and was a bag of turd after that.

Hm's for the rest of the team, great way to start the season on Old Boys day, and hopefully put a few smiles back on people's faces after such terrible day yesterday.

HMs to everyone bar Ayshford who didn’t play many minutes but still did nothing wrong. Big ups to Kearney and his staff for getting them hitting the ground running for the season.
