Well, another relatively ugly win. Hard to single out points because it was a group effort. But here I go.
3. Capewell - Simply because I reckon Herbie Farnworth is just about the best player in the NRL (or up there) at the moment and he kept him quiet. Interesting in the Presser, Webster said he was full of injuries last year and was much better this year.
2. Nuikore - He was ripped off in that strip over the line, but the plan of the day was to run at their halves, in particular Nikorima. He did that well.
1. Pompey - He was solid. One of his best games.

HM - The ref. Lets be honest, it wasn't all one way traffic, but got some love there.
DM - We all know who, plenty of discussion above. Good teams are just gunna have a field day running down his side.

Been thinking about why I didn’t rate Capewell as high as everyone else. The more I’ve thought about it, the more highly I rate that performance in retrospect. But I think I kinda held DWZ’s scatterbrain against Capewell a bit, even though the edge was somehow contained.

not really. We got one that we shouldn’t have and we didn’t get one that we should have. The Dolphins penalties were legitimate, but they got managed back into the game in the second half through penalties and set restarts.

One of the most blatant attempts to level the penalty count and manage a team back into the contest that I have ever seen and everyone is crying about the missed knock on
True.

One thing that people also missed - and I checked back on this - is that Hamiso was very clearly offside in the lead-up to Nikorima's no try. Badger checked it and deemed him onside, only (luckily) to find out HTF knocked it on. If he hadn't, it would have incorrectly been given.

To be fair mate, that was the most ridiculously clear knock-on you'd bear witness to. I would have had the absolute shits if that went against us. I agree with what you're saying, but even if with the even the score rubbish the refs often indulge in, we conceded those tries whilst the Phins conceded ours to a clear infringement.

I forget the one we should have, you mean CHT's under the posts? Leka knocked that on.

I don't think it was a knock on
Sweet, I suppose that shows how hard the refs have it at times. I definitely think it was, Warren Smith thought it was, and it doesn't matter if Kevvy did because he thought Mark Nicholls' tip on went backwards and was so one-eyed trying to kick the Phins over the line.

To me, anything borderline is a knock-on, it's how league has always been adjudicated. Which makes the RTS one so obvious. RTS even started swearing and cursing his hands when he did it, and some people stopped.

The one that Mark Nicholls knocked on, it looked like at least 2 Dolphins were in front of the kicker and they didnt even bother to check that.
