Friend needs to learn to pass it in front of players as they are moving or to get them moving....NOT above their head...constantly....and pass quicker from the play the ball.

3- Manu
2- Mannering
1- Tomkins

Friend had a very poor game (certainly not alone in that respect). As for " Leuluai was disappointing and flat in his stints at hooker this season." - what, all of 45 minutes? Or was he there for 2 games? Ridiculous to judge him on that, just like it's stupid to say Friend is bad based solely on this one.

Fair enough, the point I was making is that he doesn't remove either Friend or Townsend in either position based of what I've seen so far. Surplus to requirements imo

Not necessarily saying he's a bad hooker overall, but I doubt he's much better than Friend.

Yeah, whether it's due to injury hangover, or something else - Leuluai simply has not looked first grade standard...

And let's be honest, he's no world beater anyway

And me for this one too.

3. Manu. Wish I could thank him personally for at least giving us something to leap off our feet about.
2. Mannering. Always seemed to be in there trying something.
1. Tomkins. Exposed at the back but cleaning up well. I did heckle him though, about slipping over so often.

Konrad, Ngani, Henry et al, all looked in top nick during the warm ups.

At least Lousi has some size and physicality to him. Even when rattled by Idris, he kept hold of the ball, got up and shook it off. There's a lot of big mongrel there we should try to let loose.

Tomkins is still pretty hopeless trying to stop someone surging at the line, but at least he's there now ready to make some sort of an attempt. Clearly someone who is working on his faults.

Sorry thought my phone lost the post.

Regarding Jones.

Was always a thinker.

Never had the pace Johnson, size nor strength of Manu.

One of NZs best ever using his head.

I imagine well repected.
