3-2-1 v Raiders

Nah. Remind me how many golden point games we won in the period when he was out?
he’s frustrating, but he still provides us with an ability to ice games that we’ve lacked from anyone else and we’d likely be 2-6 instead of 4-4 without him.
SJ is just frustrating, seems to have the talent, but can go missing for long periods in games. A solid tackle puts him in his shell
But can pull out a clutch play when needed.

Carrying someone in the team just for his drop goals seems crazy to me.
And that is all he is offering at the moment.

I'm a 52 year old who never played league. The other day I was walking home from the Newport (NSW) shops in the evening, after a fish 'n' chip dinner on the beach with the mrs and mother-in-law.

We passed through the local girls footy training (the Mona Vale Raiders) which had just finished. There was a ball left out on the field, close to the goalposts.

I picked it up and thought about 'Golden Point', all those on-rushing defenders, the hopes of the fans willing me forward, about 20 yards out and I striked it, and liked it! Perfect symmetry with the black dot!

'Well done!', the mother-in-law said. It was a beautiful moment. I felt like a $450,000 man.

The Warriors may as well have me out there if all they expect of a star half is a drop-goal.

what year is it again?

The more things change the more they stay the same - tbh, it makes those guys that are more consistent and (arguably) less talented incredibly impressive

I always wonder, there are kids that just have something/natural talent that don't have to work, it's just a "gift", bigger, stronger, faster. Then there are the others that have to work, practice from a young age and really want "it" so build in a work ethic while the other natural just cruises.
Ultimately as time passes the grinder keeps improving and the natural talent gets passes or stays stagnet.
SJ has never taken external advise well that has been seen in the media and at a young age seemed to have a natural talent.

As you say, things have stayed the same.
