Not a vintage performance but solid and easily best game this year. I’m gonna go with:

3 - SJ, controlled things pretty well but gets the 3 mainly because the entire team looked better balanced, organised and structured with him out there
2 - Montoya. Does everything at 100km/h and makes it count, both on attack and defence.
1 - Kosi. Giving him the points on the basis of improvement, didn’t put a foot wrong and came up with some big shots on defence, suddenly looks like a first grader with the benefit of an off season.

HMs to the front row, Pompey and Walsh. No DMs, Jazz would get one for the cannonball but thought he was actually good otherwise. He’ll get a holiday for it though.

1. Montoya - for the way he’s obviously gone out to prove something and really turned his game around from the first few games.

Nice all around performance though. As Flanno commented they shared the load really well.

Those big boys, and SJ, allow our backs to improve, the way the likes of Montoya, Pompey, Arthars and Kosi did today.

1 Either winger would be fine... I'll go Kosi

Lots of HMs, most of the team really... pack played well as a group (Jazz had a couple of bad plays obviously, and Aitken failed to wrap the ball up in the tackle a few times, but neither played badly overall), not a bad performance from any of the backs.

I actually like Jazz generally in that small middle role combined with two big props. He gets good metres on quick Dummy half scoots and hit ups and his defensive work rate is good. Just needs to keep the penalties down.

overall the team this week just looked far more balanced. I like CHT as deputy half to SJ too.

I’m happy winning ugly
We won by 14 and scored some tidy tries, and generally controlled the game well. It wasn’t champagne footy but I wouldn’t have called it ugly (though the second half was a bit of a drop-fest). And our defence was good, we only conceded one try to a bit of individual brilliance from Reynolds.

Yep, that small middle role is his position. It's where he's played all his best footy.

Never looked like losing the game but would like to see some more composure and patience on attack.
That will come though

Commentators really hyped up jazz's "cannonball" tackle. He was clearly trying to wrap the legs up and didn't go Nelson asofa solomona styles in at the knees. Unfortunate that old mate got injured, but it really wasn't that bad in my opinion.

Agreed. He got it wrong but it was marginal.

It was a warm one in Brisbane today, I’d assume that’s why the 2nd half had a lot more errors

Yeah I though exactly the same. Also though that was why Brown only usingg one interchange in the first half wasn’t dumb
