Geez - hard to come up with only three...

3 - Maloney
2 - Sam Rapira
1 - Locke

Maybe Maloney's best of the year - great kicking game; he got nailed early too. All the props did the work, and I found it hard to seperate them. However, I think Locke needs reward too - he handled everything in tough conditions, showing the younger Tupou and the renowned Beast how it's done. Such a fun night out at the ground.

Oh, 12,000 people? It didn't feel like it, although it was noisier than last week's 10,000 (also a suspicious figure).

One of our better games this season to watch. Holding a team scoreless for over an hour is inspirational stuff. Hope to see more games like this 2 give us confidence going into the finals.

Well Manu had no problems catching it, now he just needs to hold it - unbeleivable

How funny was that?! I thought he went pretty well though. I'm liking how the SJ/Mateo combo is developing, too.
In retrospect yes it was funny. I'm sure I heard the sound of a thousand hands slapping foreheads at the time though. He did return the ball with purpose for most of the game TBF.

The Mateo/SJ combo looks like it could start to cause defences alot of problems, good times ahead I hope.

Maloney-Lillyman-Locke

Tough as a few did pretty good tonight, albeit against a struggling team both in attack and defence. But did what was needed. Mannering and Heremaia should be in the points too really, tough choice.

Manu really worries me atm, really lost his mojo, and getting uncharacteristically grumpy about it onfield too. IMO he doesn't deserve his spot atm, should really be dropped for a spell

Not gonna happen, and definitively not gonna happen when our coach has something against playing Inu.

3- Lillyman
2- Mannering
1- Rapira

The little guys; Locke, Maloney, Johnson and Heremaia all played well, but it was the big boppers that won us the game

Mannering has really stepped it up and Maloney back to his best, had to give Heremaia a point, easily his best game of the year. Honourable mentions to Locke and Johnson, am loving our propping rotation, was great to see Mateo's reaction when he scored his first try for us.

Great win, after we went 12-0 down I thought we were in for one of those nights.

Rapira/Maloney/Locke unlucky to miss out.

Got to say I have noticed that these 3-2-1 votes get skewed by whoever scored a try or two each week.

Manu really worries me atm, really lost his mojo

When he got the ball 5 out and 5 in from touch and opted to cut back in, instead of going for the corner really indicates he is low on confidence.

Fair point, but always the way. People generally love the razzle dazzle and the flashy stuff...kids usually flock to the spectacular try scorers and the like...the forwards who do hard yakka, the players who set up the situation to create the spectacular try are often overlooked for the finisher.
Not that we've had much to really rave about in terms of spectacular tries, so we take it when we can get it!
I enjoyed the win, although it probably wasn't quite as razzle dazzle as the score suggested. We were up against a team with a poor record this year in both D & A. Obviously a win's a win, but I hope it doesn't scewer us into thinking the teams well and truely mended, it may be a shock when we stike the form teams again.
We needed to win the last two and we did, thats good and a confidence boast for sure, and the ball handling was good in the conditions Friday night...but we'll see against some upcoming teams.:)

I must mention again what a fantastic game Aaron Heremaia had.
Crisp and smart service, 2 tries, including that fantastic solo effort when we really needed it, 96 metres, 3 tackle breaks, 33 tackles with just 3 misses, 1 line break and zero errors.
He should have his 50th game very game - an inspiring performance.
Also I noted he really had a strong combo with Johnson going - almost a pity this will end in a few months time.
