Would have given Mateo a point but his silly offload, at a crucial time, gave away possession, a coverted try and a H/T lead.

Newcastle really picked up the pace at about the 65th minute mark and things looked ominous. However, this time the bounce of the ball - the luck - went our way.

I wouldn't have been able to handle seeing Mason's huge leering mug on that bicycle, ala last year, if the Knights had stolen it.

Pleased to see Mannering get a try, he's copped it a bit this week too.
Big ups to them- They did what they needed to do after the worst defeat. They needed to show some balls, and guts out something decent, ideally winning. They did that. It's only one game, they need to keep up the effort now. I hope this has installed some belief in them. My only worry is that this was them getting angry to put in one to stick it up the critics, and that they'll think it's enough and go into auto mode again. May they continue to get angry and keep shoving it up us critics!

Are you guys basing that on the fact he put 2 kicks out on the full, or is it just the fact you don't like him? Apart from those two kicks he was one of our best, i thought, particularly leading the team around well in the first half.

Last week he copped a tonne of flack here, which seemed mainly because he was offside at a kick off. Like that was the worst thing that happened in last week's game. tbh, last week he was one of the only guys having a go. I guess he's just easy to pick on.

Agreed totally Thomas is getting better with the more games under his belt, some people on here forget he has been in the ESL for a few years now and is only improving. I do know he is not a No.6 and should play hooker or interchange super sub role but until that changes theres bugger all we can do about it. TL does cop some total BS on here at times when he should be praised as being one of the better improving players of 2013.
