Honourable mentions to SJ, RTS, Matulino, Lolohea.

Good return to grade for Hurrell too.

3. Kata
2. Manu
1. RTS

I've been pretty hard on Kata so far this year but gee I thought he was easily our best today, had a mean game. Manu's runs in our own half are so valuable to us, definitely missed him in that area last year.

Honorable mentions to Matulino, Tevaga, Lolohea, Gubb.

1. RTS...

I would go this but I really can't leave a forward out of it. As mentioned, they laid the platform.

So I'm going:

3. Kata - he's improving all the time, might be hurt next week though, which makes way for Konnie.
2. Manu - his best game for a while. Really quite faultless.
1. Vete - gee he hit the line hard, took his cue when Lisone had to take a spell.

HM to Ayshford. That's an under-rated centre we have there.

If the whole team backs up next week - against a struggling and desperate Roosters, at an out of the way venue - then we'll be right back in the comp.

I can hear the train whistle already. Who else is thinking of going?

I thought it was a great idea starting Vete at Lock, then moving him to the front row and playing Gubb at lock.

3. Matulino - Machine

1. Manu - Sorely missed him getting our sets off on the right track in the last game

honorable mention Kata, keeps improving.

Gubb 3
Vete 2
Manu 1

Wasn't it great to see some mongrel out there. Gubby got some good minutes and really bent them, so did Vete and Manu.

Robson was ordinary in attack. Will TL get a run next week. Reckon Jazz was better than Issac L to be honest. RTS is starting to come good.

3- Kata (massive improvement in his defence this year, and he was always a dynamo on attack)
2- Manu (vintage Manu, monster yards up the middle and finished well)
1- RTS (great all round game, showing his value)

Honourable mentions Mutts, Gubb, SJ, Vete, Tevaga

-1 Robson (no doubting his commitment but needs to fix his hands, unacceptable error rate for a veteran pro)

3. Kata (lost track of how many times he picked up runners and put them flat on their backs)
2. Manu (much needed Manu metres and good finishing)
1. RTS (showing more and more of his danger each game - pity about his turnstile defence though)

Hon: Matulino, Gubb, Vete, Tavenga, Lolo

1. Kata
HM - Jazz, Mannering, Hoffman, Lisone, Vete, Gubb, Ayshford, RTS, Lolo

Halves still a worry - both capable enough though, we need to remember how ordinary this Knights team is

-3. Robson, ffs I hope this is just a one off
-2. Luke, talk about easing his way into the season

Generally most were on their game, we're just waiting for our spine to click.

The one thing I'll give Luke so far is he sure knows how to grab tries from close range, he;s got two already this year. But yeah otherwise Tevaga has stood out more at hooker than him this year. How good was his shot on Sims? In fact looking at Tevaga, Kata and Gubb this year I've gotta say that Morgan is earning his keep, their tackling technique is outstanding.

He needs extra time with Robson.

If Kata's fit to play next week we'll see how much he's improved as he's going up against Ferguson, who dominated him in last year's fixture at the SFS.

Poor Solomone tried and tried, like going up against his bigger, older and obviously enjoying himself, brother, in the backyard. Solomone didn't go off crying to mum though.

Could be different this year, looks like the kid's grown up.
