If Kata's fit to play next week we'll see how much he's improved as he's going up against Ferguson, who dominated him in last year's fixture at the SFS.

Poor Solomone tried and tried, like going up against his bigger, older and obviously enjoying himself, brother, in the backyard. Solomone didn't go off crying to mum though.

Could be different this year, looks like the kid's grown up.

Solomone shirt grabbed a lot last year, this year he's driving in low around the midriff. It's a way more effective technique for a guy his shape because he can't be fended off as easily by taller players with superior reach like Ferg. Hopefully he proves a point next week.

Roache seems to have been well and truly overtaken by Jazz. Good kid that Jazz, just something about him, seems to have his head screwed on and heaps of heart as displayed against the storm. I know it's really early days but If there is no development possible for him at hooker due to Bully pulling his finger out then I'd like to see him groomed as a lock in the Tyrone peachey mould.

The kind of kid we need to find a spot for.

Huge improvement in the second half. Did someone let rip?

Robson knows how to tackle, shame he doesn't know how to catch.

He knows how to tackle if the runner comes right to him. If he has to move a few steps to either side he gets burned for speed every time. Missed tackle stats don't account for the times when you're so far away you can't even attempt one.

I would go this but I really can't leave a forward out of it. As mentioned, they laid the platform.

So I'm going:

3. Kata - he's improving all the time, might be hurt next week though, which makes way for Konnie.
2. Manu - his best game for a while. Really quite faultless.
1. Vete - gee he hit the line hard, took his cue when Lisone had to take a spell.

HM to Ayshford. That's an under-rated centre we have there.

If the whole team backs up next week - against a struggling and desperate Roosters, at an out of the way venue - then we'll be right back in the comp.

I can hear the train whistle already. Who else is thinking of going?

I'll be there! One of the only games I'll get a chance to go too this year unless they make the finals.

Yep, we really have no other choice. It's a three and a half hour trip each way for me by choo choo. I live in the rugby league capital of Australia/NZ and have to resort to this!

But can't wait !

I'll be heading up too with my Rooster fan mate. Not so bad for him as he lives in Pymble so he's already maybe 1/4 of the was there by train but it's a massive downgrade from the SFS for me coming from Glebe. Gosford's not a bad spot, but it's hardly an area with a big Kiwi presence. Would've made more sense to hold the game at a historic Sydbey ground like North Sydney oval, nice and central and would have a fantastic atmosphere with 13-15k in attendance.
