Fun one this week! Thought the whole team played well, no real howlers.

3 - Matulino, deserved MOM, went forward all game, offloaded, hit hard in defence
2 - Vatuvei, flawless performance, tons of tough metres, finished his try well and came off his line at the right times to put in some huge hits
1 - Tomkins, makes a world of difference to our direction in attack, he seems to light a fire under the other guys, and no mistakes either.

Honorable mention to Lisone, and really no poor performers this week. More of the same next week please!

Jim Doyle? :sarcasm:

But seriously?who is your man of the match?

Is it Tomkins? Because most people list their man of the match first

Or is it Matulino? Because he has the 3 next to his name

Spacey - thought TL was average again. His poor service out of dummy half is really stiflingly our attack and cost us at least one try. Seems to want to double pump every pass instead of just getting it quickly to our impressive forwards. With decent dummy half the early promise of vete and lisone would be realized a lot sooner.

Having said that
Manu
Tompkins
Maturing

Lovin the forward pack eh. And Vatuvei is always brilliant. But I like young Lisone and Vete off the bench, man they're adding something to our team, and Mannering at lock is keeping the middle of our defence very tight. That bloke just doesn't miss. Thompson also came up with a ripping try saver early on.

Size.

I mean, Lisone isn't huge, but there seems to be a big difference between him and Rapira/Matagi/Gubb

He's also really agile, great balance, and with his ball skills he's not a bloke you can rush up to crush. Amazing talent.

One thing I'm loving this year is the boys not hesitating in running in when someone is high tackled or giving a bit of a shove when they cop some rubbish in a tackle. Especially the 2 young props Vete and Lisone. Finally a little bit of mongrel, liked seeing one of them (can't remember who but think Lisone) giving FPN a bit of a spray.

Tomkins really completed the team and took the attention off SJ who was pretty poor again this week. Tomkins doesn't play, we lose I think. Chad was better this week.

Tui seems wasted at centre, don't know where I'd put him though.

Jono Wright seemed solid but a bit slow, not sure if it's accurate but I remember him being pretty quick.

Bodene goes good too, a real goer who rounds out a pretty solid backrow.

Thomas needs more practice at dummy half, could have been called on at least 5 forward passes tonight

Yeah he didn't do a lot, agreed. Couple of decent runs but that was it. Maybe start Friend next week?

Good having a couple of physical, enthusiastic forwards coming off the bench, the Warriors have always gone better when we have a good 4 prop rotation and don't suffer from a drop in forward momentum when our starting props come off. Vete and Lisone are doing that well for us right now. Hopefully it lights a fire under Rapira and Matagi's arses as well.

Enjoyed the game, very entertaining. But man, Roosters and Rabbits was a great game, those two teams have unbelievably good rosters. At best we can be a top 5 team, but no way will we threaten for the premiership this year. Hoffman is a great acquisition.

Thought Lisone was excellent, Manu not playing prop but still a terrific wing... Chad was decent, everyone was really, except TL and SJ imo...

Some poor last tackle options in the first half, presumably called by Tomkins - but he and Johnson involved... exciting game, but both teams well short of the good teams

3. Matulino. Great to have him back.
2. Tomkins. Class. Real heart too.
1. Manu. Strong game.

Mannering, Hoffman, Thompson, Lisone and Townsend unlucky to miss out.

The attack going to the left is far stronger than going to the right.

Hooker is still a problem area. TL is not the answer.

Much better performance. Bring on the Eels.
