3. Bully - was in everything, really stepped his game up and looked pretty fit
2. Roger - was great and will probably get most people's 3's
1. Mannering

Honourable mention to everyone putting in on D

3- everyone who tackled their arses of in the second half when we had no right to hold them out.

Proper points when I watch the replay but SJ will be in there. He may be a princess but he's no pea heart.

3. Johnson - I was still giving him three when I thought we'd lose right at the end. His 80-min effort is unmatched from any team-mate bar Mann, Hoff and Roger.

2. Mann - just always good, win or lose. I love the way he wraps an off-loader up in the tackle. If we aren't gonna be an off-loading side then, with Mann in the middle, our opposition won't be either!

1. Roger - class act. His defence has generally come good from what we saw last year, albeit in only seven and a bit games. He's gotta be itching for some try-scoring action though? He's in a dour side this year.

Would've given Hoff a point but Mann stole his thunder. Luke went under my radar today but he'll get heaps of points in this thread.

Oz reminded me how good Gavet was.

Also, he friggen scythes in his tackles. Watch the tacklees get up grimacing. I cant find an analogy, but... he doesnt smash in a tackle; he whacks.

3 Gavet
2 RTS
1 Maumalo

Cheers Oz. I'd forgotten about Gavet. He had a whale of a game.

Tea Ropati needs to know that he pronounces his name with the 't' at the end, not the la-de-dah French way, which Tea tries to emulate.

3 Hoff. I hate how a great piece of play is rewarded with six again for the team who were charged down. It's a travesty.
2. Mannering. One ultra dumb pass to Lisone but he's a heroic defender.
1. Luke. One silly error at a critical time but he was huge in the middle third.

Would have gone -20 for SJ. Error for both tries. Completely ballsed a 4 on 1. Seemed to be trying too hard. Pearce was showing him how's it done. Run direct and bring blokes onto the ball with the defence back peddling.

-10 to Fusitua. One of the dumbest plays I have ever laid eyes on. Tackled. Clear as day. Tackle one. I know I will pass.

RTS one bad error, some great high ball takes, great cover defence and generally in everything. Great effort.

CNK. The lad did really well on debut. His runs out of dummy half were massive.

Lisone. His chase back on SKD was awesome. Couple of errors but it wasn't due to a lack of effort.

Maumalo. Bend down on the grubbers son. Otherwise worked hard.

And I thought Mats added good value when he came on.

Gutsy win.

3. RTS - defence, important stuff coming out of our area
2. Luke - only misses top spot with a couple of dopey efforts late in the game
1. Johnson - big effort (and kicked well, which was the difference)

hon. Gavet, Mannering... and why not throw CNK in there, for some seriously good effort on debut (and actual wing play on defence..)

Can't give Hoff points after a pathetic missed tackle causing that first Roosters try.

Iafeta - missed Pearce bombing a try for the Roosters? (not the only Rooster to do so, obviously)

I definitely don't think Hoffman was the best player out there. One crucial miss on Manu that lead to a try, SJ's pass to him which he just decided to let go which eventually went out, no punch on any of his hit-ups, he was dominated instantly; and a bunch of bad decisions off the ball that I saw. I was keeping an eye on him for some reason and sure he put in toward the end when we defended our hearts out but Mannering was 100% better than him today, out did him in almost every area of the game apart from one silly pass.

3 - RTS - Was easily our best, in the periods where we were on top it was all him. Safe as houses at the back apart from one fumble. He also managed to save an almost certain try where they had like 10 on 1. Massive play.

2. Mannering
1. Gavet

Simon is a defensive weapon, he's absolutely phenomenal. If the lion ever wants us to take him seriously he hasti drop the Mannering hate.

For got to give an Honourable mention to Matulino
Announced during the week that hes off at the end of the year, could of chucked the cue in the rack and gone through the motions.
Nope. Played big minutes couple of good hits with lots of other tackles and made the advantage line heaps. Thought he showed a lot of maturity

That try miss was all Hoff imo. SJ was distributing to where Hoff should have been standing ready to pass onto his centre, he was too forward and let it go anyway for some reason.

And that missed tackle was poor, had two swipes and missed both. Ken stood and watched.

Johnson, Roger, Mannering, Lisone, Luke, Hoffman, Fusitua, Thompson and Ken.

All with one crucial error each, at least. Could've all been match-deciding, but today we got away with it.
