SJ would have gotten points but for the intercept pass which was a huge turning point. Gavet was good but more quiet in second spell. CNK had a great debut - hope to see much more of him and knock Maumalo out of his wing spot. A lot of other players did very well too. Could give points to many just for the goal line defence efforts.

* Edited: after some though I decided SJ's intercept was too much to give him points so Luke moves up *

Not sure I read that right Iafeta, but did you say Pearce outplayed SJ today?

Yes. SJ caused two tries for the Roosters directly off his errors and bombed a try early in the second half. Pearce and Keary were playing direct. The Warriors was enormous though.

Everyone played well although Bodene and Lisone always knock on at crucial times
Great game guys!
3 Gavet, crazy and skilled
2 Mannering, never misses a tackle or pass
3 CNK was just as good as everyone around him on debut

But he also created most of our points, x2 in the case of Fus's try (strip then perfect pass)
He's busting his gut and for the most part delivering.

I agree he's busting his gut. His defence was excellent. Sometimes though you can try too hard and that's where I felt he was at.

Yes the strip was an outstanding play and he toyed with SKD to put Fus over.

3 Luke thought he set the tone in defence and played full 80 which was crucial.
2 RTS amazing trysaver. guess he got back the one he lost at Canberra.
1 CNK great debut. quick out of dummy half. made tackles and didnt get out of position. Considering hes playing fullback this year and last year was in centres, i thought he played fantastic on the wing in a tough game. zero mistakes. and they tested him out too.

Luke's defence was top class, RTS was the defuser and Mannering the limpet.

Very solid debut CNK, looked right at home, congrats. Gavet was excellent.
I agree with others that Johnson was trying a bit too much, but some excellent plays and working super hard.

If our defence can remain that standard and we can click on attack and cut out 2nd half errors, we would make the 8 comfortably.

Every Bronco's game I hear the commentators talk about Matt Gillet being the best defender in the game. He is fantastic and I watch most Bronco's games, but Mannering is the best I reckon.

Sometimes I wonder whether those Thurs/Friday night Broncos commentators really know who Mannering is.

I'm sure they've heard of his name.

From what I've seen Mannsring is better. Those 1 on 1 shots, and he cracks 50 per game regularly.

Spoiled for choice this week...lots of players put their hands up. For me:

Mannering
RTS
Matulino

SJ, Hoff, Luke, Gavet all put in too. Happy days

For a senior player, Bodene always seems to make a crucial error at a crucial time. Very annoying

Maumalo easily had his best game in a warriors jumper. CNK made no mistakes, appeared to have great positional play and was good bringing the ball back and the backs ball plays.

I watched the reserves and Manu looked good. Would you bring him in?

Kata, will he get a gig when he comes back? Our centres look much better balanced with Fus and Blake. At least the winger occasionally gets the ball from the centre when Kata not there.

A proven try-scorer outwide. Actually, a champion try-scorer.

We have a dour, defensive side that's lacking points, attacking options. Yet our defence is looking the best it's been in years, do we risk Manu stuffing that up?

The good news is that we have a coach who's paid well. It's his call, and he's paid to make it right.

I've made a conscious effort to give Johnson points even if he makes a mistake or two. Also, and this is the more important one, just because he doesn't pull out one of those brilliant moves doesn't mean he won't get points from me.

I've been too hard on him over the years and expected too much. He's deserved no points in quite a few games though, I aint denying that. He's tougher of late though.
