Ill get this thing started again. Very scrappy from us I actually thought the sharks were the better team tbh.

3. Manu
2. Lillyman
1. Tomkins

Townsend was on his way to a 3 but went missing in the second half. Can't believe no one stepped up and put the ball into touch on that last set.

3. Manu - herculean effort in that back end of the 2nd half, took the hit ups (2 or 3 every set) when everyone was tired and got us off our line.
2. Mannering - some tough defending
1. Tomkins - everywhere and shut down a few breaks that could have lead to tries.

No question for me Manu was the best player on the field today. Monster effort from him to bend that line at the start of every single set.

3. Manu. Definitely Manu today, sometimes I think his sheer physical presence saved us from defeat (don't ask me to explain this, but I have a feeling I won't have to).
2. Lillyman. Decided to give him two early on and never wavered from that. I like how he ran in to fend off Fifita when he stood over Tomkins (with help from Matulino, which helps!)
1. Tomkins. A solid game, in attack and defence, bar that in-goal blunder.

Would have given Nielsen a point if Tomkins was quiet. Nielsen looks to be on the up.

Hon mentions to Lilyman, Nielsen and Mannering. Bit of an off day from the others.

The Chad does not seem to be able to adjust his play if it is not working, like the Broncos game, he went to the same kick again and again.
TL really needed to step up, but didn't.

oh Hon men Pat Politoni for NOT throwing that pass to Gordon who would of certainly scored.
Watching the replay I can not see any reason to not throw the pass.

hon mentions Laomappy, Nielson (!)

But this game was a timely reminder of how completely and utterly directionless we are without Shaun Johnson. Friend copped a lot of blame but both Townsend and Leuluai went missing and couldn't steer the ship at all. Friend (who was poor too) was serving a backline who had no idea what they were doing. Speaks a bit of Mannering as well, no kick when everyone forgot the game plan.

Lucky escape
