3. Packer
2. ET/Friend - cant split them
1. Tupou - showed me for the first time, he can finish.

Vatuvei and Matulino were great in the front row.

For me it was the night the forwards stood up:
2. Matulino
2. Packer
2. ET.

I thought Maloney went well - a couple of big hits early and nursed Godinet well.
Henry is improving with each game. Our best center.
Tupou did well.
Manu had a good game - move him to the forwards.

Mateo is starting to worry me. With the forwards on top he should have been getting off-loads away.

Lesson #1. It's an 80 minute game.

and thats where we were heading. Imagine the lift the Warriors would have felt beating the unbeatable Storm.

Best Ive seen them play all season but the try scored off Inu's drop kicked their arses.

Was our game to win and , ultimately, lose.

To be fair, it's not like the whole team clocked off after 70mins. Inu's mistake put the Warriors in a very bad position. After the Storm capitalised on it, the Warriors needed to switch from what they had been doing very well, to a desperation type of football, and more mistakes flowed from that.

I didn't see the game, nor highlights, but I thought the Warriors had won it cause across the road at the RSL they were cheering (no-one supports the Storm here).

However, they were playing Two-up.

Back to the game, I know it's easy to scapegoat Inu (he'll be back by the way) but what's got me worried is how we conceded 3 (or 4?) tries in the last ten minutes. At 14-14 we were a premiership contender, but in that ten we showed we're well short.

Inu mistakes made us go toes up in the last 10. The first of the tries after 14-all was a real heart breaker. You should really catch a replay of the game and you will understand.
Our shuffled defense out wide was also to blame, as was the loss of our fullback.

Based on what I saw, I now have faith that we will be in the finals this season.

I agree, the last two weeks showed signs of life. We can't afford to lose too many more while we build on this though

Wow bit of hate for Godinet who I think played pretty well filling in for Johnson. The only negative was him being a very easy target on defence. And with the soft tackles on Chambers on the line, Chambers was always going to score those not even a good 1 on 1 tackle would have saved it.

Tupou - agree with someone earlier saying we shouldn't hand points out just because he dotted down twice but he gets it from me because they were two really good finishes, particulary the 2nd.

I think we really need to do something with our 3rd and 4th tackles on the line. Seems like we just take soft hit ups trying to get to 5th for a bomb to manu which I thought we had moved on from by now. Why not chuck it around a bit on the 4th?

Not so much Godinet hate, he filled in reasonably well in attack, but was exposed defensively off the line. His tackling technique isn't at issue here.

No Maloney hate, as expected. He can do no wrong around here.

What did Maloney do wrong yesterday? Wasn't his best game but he didn't make any real blunders, on the contrary I think Maloney gets a bit too much hate around here. Remember those many days when we had no #6?

Yes, no real blunders, but he failed to stamp his mark on the game again. With a junior half in the 7 jersey, it was his chance to take control.

Exactly.

Our forwards bloody dominated last night and we failed to capitalize. I was far more disappointed with Maloney than I was with Godinet.

Take out the only two players in the squad, that have both speed and ball playing ability in SJ and Locke (Maloney to
a lesser extent), and we're left with the slowest all round team in the comp, that ask very few questions of the
oppositions defense.

Get those two on the park, behind a pack performing like ours did last night, and we're in this comp up to our eyes...
it would also help if our left side could tackle something.
