Seriously folks, the points for Wright are sympathy points right? He did well tonight, but one of the top three warriors players on the field...yeah, but nah.

Played extremely well and came up with decisive plays at critical times. Definitely not sympathy vote from me, he earns it.

Man, I'm enjoying eating humble pie, as I said we'd never win till Tompkins came back.

After that rubbish last week, the team turned up today and you couldn't even recognise Hurrell and SJ from there efforts last week. I said drop them.

The backs at least made a contribution to a run of good solid forward efforts. We've got a pack I reckon. Good balance.

did i miss something last night?? i saw Johnson run around the outside of the tigers centre to score and that was it??? other than that Townsend did all the organising and kicking.....what else did johnson do?

Made some tackles, kicked some goals, kicked some field position, skipped outside to set up Hurrell (I think) for a bust back on the inside. Some good signs.

Big part in setting up Vatuvei's second try (he sweeps to the left hand side to create the numbers), big part in Lolohea's try (uses his speed to get to Tim Simona and bring Konrad in on an inside line one on one with Luke Brooks who deadset can't defend to save himself), made two line breaks... no doubt for mine they're going to the left more often than not, in the first 20 minutes it was doing my head in because Shaun had already shown sides he was confusing the heck out of Luke Brooks, yet bung-eyes at hooker kept going to the left and away from SHaun and Konrad.

One bad miss tackle to allow Simona to score (Townsend's miss on Tedesco was also really poor FWIW), but otherwise I thought he was good and engaged the line much better last night.

hon mentions to Manu and Mannering. Wright proving to be nice and safe but probably nothing more.

Johnson was doing sfa for the first 20 minutes or so, but good signs after that.
Hurrell came back strong on attack after the woes last week.

Leuluai is offering nothing, gotta give Friend more minutes than that.
Defence in general a worry but good 'ugly' win for us.

Agree. TL and Friend both have poor passes of their left hand, especially Friend when he is running with the ball, he will either labour the pass or revert to type.
Also I am not sure if Bodene is a good fit playing outside Shaun. With all the players Shaun attracts when running, Bodene tends to get nailed by the first defender. Yet when Konrad plays one out, he pushes through the line. Get Lisone outside Shaun. The kid?s got talent (and a football brain).

Really need Johnson to start playing 80 minutes.

I like Bodene, I really do, I think he's quality but he doesn't seem like an effective enough edge runner. Deserves a spot in the side though.

On our hooking rotation all I can say is I wish we bought Issac Luke.

Nice idea. Agree with others re: Thompson, wish he had more depth to his game.
I'd also say a fair amount of the reason the ball tends to get shifted to the left so often (besides it being more natural to pass in that direction, for most) is that the majority of our best attacking players tend to play on that side.
