Umpire Shamshuddin is dodgily incompetent. In the Bangas v NZ ODI series he was giving wides that were 5 inches inside the line. I think he was the umpire in the two shockers in the T20, Kohli plumb in front, hitting middle halfway up, not out. Then Root, last over first ball needing 8 to win Shamshuddin skyrockets his finger up faster than Dirty Harry could flick the trigger. Root had knocked the cover off the ball. Dodgy as.

Yeah I just watched the fox replay of the T20, that Root dismissal was Venkat-esque. Absolutely awful.

T/20s are the only form of cricket with no neutral umpires. Wonder if that will change now.
