The thing that gets me is all tour, ALL TOUR, its been the same tactics from the English. Back of a length, and bounce. Set the fields square of the wicket. In the ODIs and the final T20 match, the top three batting has been absolutely disgraceful. And I cannot for the life of me believe that Bob Carter and Mike Hesson don't take accountability for the fact that nothing from the New Zealand tactics have changed to counter act the obvious, blindingly obvious, English approach. Not one of the top three has looked to do anything but block it straight to a fieldsman. Just drop it at your feet and run quickly between the wickets for a start. Use the bounce secondly. Ramp it, come down the track and slap it over extra cover. 20 years ago Mark Greatbatch did that to Curtly Ambrose and Malcolm Marshall on this ground. Finn's a good bowler, but he certainly doesn't have the proven ability of an Ambrose or the late great Marshall.
Hesson has been claimed to be somewhat of a tactician. What on Earth was he informing his top three to do? Surely to hell all series he hasn't told them that 2 an over is accetpable at the top. If he has, he's as dopey as the top three today.
