Thats disgraceful from Taylor. He's sold Elliott down the garden path. Dear oh dear. The horse has well and truly bolted. This one is over.

That would be Gambhir like though wouldn't it. Run your mate out, and then get out.

How on earth is that out? Thats a disgrace. Absolutely nothing on hot spot, and the more damning thing for me is, on the hot spot side on angle, Taylor's swing into the pane of the ball of the ball line is after the ball has passed the bat.

That was a brave call, but hot spot aside that really seemed like an edge.
That shouldn't be given out though based on the logical use of DRS.

Start the debates...

I think the ICC might as well take out hot-spot. Taylor obviously didn't hit it as per hot spot, that was abundantly clear. Yet the decision stands for a noise that seems to come after the striking motion of the bat. No way thats out. Disgraceful. Pull hot-spot, its a complete and utter farce and a waste of money.

I agree with Smith here. The ruling seemingly is that no mark on hot spot is NOT conclusive evidence that the decision was wrong. In other words, hot spot is absolutely no use in decision making and indeed a complete and utter waste of cash. The ICC should remove the confusion and move hot spot, it does nothing for the decision making at all.

Clearly not out, every man and his dog knows that.

Without hot spot that would have been given out for sure I feel.
But I agree its causing more harm than good and should be canned.

Keep DRS as slo-mo replays, snicko and hawkeye.

If they used everything else that they used aside from hot spot, I could say without being conclusive that there was no reason to over turn the decision. In other words, there was nothing glaring to say it was out, the noise appeared scratchy and perhaps after the ball had passed, and with that, it should be given out.

But one has to ask with the use of hot spot conclusively showing NO spot at all, and the slo mo hot spot showing the ball went under and past the pane of the bat, that is absolutely not out. And therefore, if third umpires are to intervene with reviews, hot spot has no relevance at all and should be kept to being a TV gimmick, and nothing more.

Utterly disgraceful third umpiring. Clear as day he wasn't out.

He's a big reason we won in South Africa.
Dead wood: Rutherford and Ellis

He's completely hopeless against short pitched bowling. Averages of 25 and 40 - he's had his run. I'd love to see a statistic on his net runs contribution to the team - I reckon he must lose about 20 runs a match when compared with opposition all rounders.

The hard part would be finding someone to replace him.

Last 12 months Franklin has averaged 30 with the bat and 33 with the ball.
He's a solid player and he's not the problem.

Our problem is that Watling and Rutherford aren't openers and that we have too many support bowlers with no genuine strike bowler.
Other than that I actually think we're a solid ODI outfit, weird as that sounds given today.

He's hopeless if the ball isn't being pitched up. Way too hot and cold for an international player. His RPO in that same period is 5.48 - and average of 33 is pretty much irrelevant if you are going for 5 and a half an over.

Agree Watling and Rutherford are completely out of their depth. Willing to give Rutherford a few more chances - but Watling just can't work the ball around when the field is up. Plainly obvious from Game 1 - Hesson seems to take a while to figure things out though.
