this sounds petulant, but why is mccullum smiling and carrying on in the field?

jesus son, your team is about to get smashed. stop smirking.

Ouch, I actually feel sorry now for Southee. In all honesty, McCullum's lack of captaincy experience is showing here. He should never have bowled Southee out.

yeah talk about throwing a guy into the deep end. It is ridiculous that Southee seems to be the go to guy. He bowls up front, during the batting powerplay and at the death. Surely Mills and Oram should be doing more of the harder stuff considering their experience.

Oram should be bowling right now for example...

Is Oram injured again? He still has 2 overs left and has only gone for 34 runs.. he has been by far our best bowler yet won't bowl out... whereas poor Southee copped a hiding, yet McCullum kept throwing the ball to him

What else can you do, I guess? You either smile or cry...

I don't think NZ bowled badly, as such. I think they're just too similar. Medium pace, no swing, line and length bowlers on a tiny field and a pitch that resembled freshly set tarmac. India simply picked up on the length early because of the lack of variation and played brilliantly

Also, I cannot believe McCullum chose to bowl first. FMD our ODI philosophy is weird. How will we ever be any good at setting totals if we don't practice doing it. Considering the fact that the bowling attack has been pumped all over the place in the first 2 games of the series I just assumed that McCullum would have had no hesitation in batting first today on a road to try boost team morale/confidence.

India put on a clinic, some of the strokeplay was out of this world. And the scary thing is Sehwag didn't get going. Felt Sorry for Southee they are just ruining the kid ATM. Give him a rest and a chance to rebuild some confidence.
