Wasn't saying poor... Smith is in great form, and the lineup is deep - but Finch, Watson and Maxwell are not terribly good, and Warner is not that impressive in ODIs either

India remain the most impressive team for me at the moment, but of those left only the Windies can't win the tournament

Considering how a lot of our players in the top 6 are "not terribly good" or not impressive in one dayers , it will show a true reflection how pathetic the other sides really are if we manage to win it ;-)

Like I said, your batting is deep - and the quicks are good...

India has easily the best batting line-up, SA two greats and lots of questions, and ours is similar to yours...

If we win today, I find it hard to separate the top 4 - I suspect whoever wins the toss and bats first at the MCG will probably win the World Cup

I don't think this is the worst Australian ODI outfit. Have said all along that Aussie are favourites, and rightly so.

Yep, home semi and final if they get there - they start favourites for sure

Haynetrain is a gimp - this is a good Aust odi side - certainly not a great one by their recent standards, but doesn't necessarily take a great side to win the World Cup

Worst Aussie side World Cup side since 1983 make the Semis, So much plod at this tourney.

Some of this Aussie hate is a bit exaggerated.

Starc, Smith and Clarke are world class, Faulkner and Haddin are dependable, and all the rest are devastating on their day but inconsistent. Not the class of previous Australian line-up but this is still one of the most dangerous teams in the game today.

On paper I'd say only South Africa is genuinely stronger

Listening to Warnies ramblings before the game about how we should go with Cummins over Haze as Cummins is a good death bowler and I'm thinking wtf ?

Haze has been brilliant this summer and had one bad ODI game and it was so good to Haze shut Warnie up. Notch has really gone backwards this summer, back to scrambled seams and nothing balls and his figures reflect that. Personally I like Cummins over Notch and thats a pretty good pace line up for mine but the selectors will no doubt have manlub for Notch as he used to bowl well a year or so back.

I think they are waiting for Notch to come good, be about a good time to do so over the next game or two

Warnes nothing more than a dropkick in the commentary box

The problem is that Notch needs to work on technique to get the ball seam up, it ins't going to just happen out of the blue, needs work, so just like last time this happened we are going to have to put up with it

Holding on cricinfo summed it up - if there are quality batsman established at the crease at the end of the innings, there is very little you can do to stop them scoring - Warne is a moron, has he not been watching...

Get your wickets early, or don't get them... Aust and NZ have been brilliant at that with Starc, Boult and a bit of Haze, Southee and Vetorri... As you say, it's Johnson who should be under pressure

Everytime I think Warne is finally starting to make sense, he says something completely random.

In fact none of the Aussie commentators have really impressed me in the WC, I'm just grateful they get mixed up with others. Occasionally there were three Aussies on and it was painful.

Cummins hasn't bowled well this tournament or since the South African ODI's tbh. He's very talented but he's not there yet. Would rather back Johnson (who bowled reasonably well agaisnt Pakistan).
