West Indies should be able to hold on for a draw at least. Top result for them. Could be a parade awaiting them

Cricinfo have put together their list of the top test performances of the past 50 years...fascinating read. Laxmans 281 tops the list.

Yeah, really interesting. Some observations FWIW

1. I was surprised that Dravid's innings from the same game wasn't mentioned.
2. Botham has two in the top 10 - f**k he was a special player for a couple of years
3. Greenidge's double century at Lords was phenomenal, I remember reading about that as a kid
4. Viv's 291 similarly
6. Hadlee too low at # 6, and likewise Glenn Turner's twin centuries at #48 ;-)

Play officially abandoned on Day 4. Free entry on Day 5.

It'd be cool if the Windies and Aussies could come to some sort of arrangement - let the Windies bat for 15 overs then declare, then the Aussies declare at 0/0 and the Windies do the same, so the Aussies have 70 odd overs to chase.

But I think we'll just see centre wicket practice tomorrow for whoever is batting.

Watto would ton up for sure in that kind of situation.

That only happened once in the history of test cricket: South Africa vs England at Centurion, 2000. And who was the captain who proposed the idea? None other than Hansie Cronje (a couple of months before his match-fixing proclivities were exposed in the media)

weird seeing an SCG test played infront of a near empty stadium. Last time I saw a test crowd this low at the SCG was against Zimbabwe in 2003
