India already 0/73 with zero risks taken and Australia inexplicably in defence mode after about 30 runs. 450 suddenly not looking quite as imposing...

Is Kohli fit to bat?

If so this reminds me of the England tests where we scored 400+ in the first dig only for Kohli to score that many on his own in return.

If they wanted to India could have topped Victoria's 90 year old record of about 1100 runs in a first class dig a couple of times in that series.

Not really where I'd hoped we'd be at halftime in the footy (and that goes for both games!)

Still, 375 in front, if we can get a few late wickets today....not over by a long shot

I think if we can snag one we will get a few in quick succession but when they get that first one who knows

Maybe not the top order. I think it'll be a struggle for the first 4 or 5 and then they'll fall in a heap. That's been the trend so far anyway

A wicket? Referral, what's happening. Radio commentators seem to think somethings is there.
But no, we've lost a referral. Ah well.
Smith and Maxwell should bowl for a bit tomorrow if nothing's happening, see if the dynamic duo can break the game open.

India will be pleased with the day's play-first to keep us to 451 and then their batsmen were in absolute cruise control. Pitch has some slow turn but still playing incredibly well. Amazing how a bowler like Lyon has taken 200+ test poles. Needed a few wickets tonight and might be a loooong day for our bowlers tomorrow unless this pitch goes to shit.

What shits me is we could have really done with an extra 100 runs. Would have loved for Warner to step up.

Based on how flat the pitch is the score card for Australia is a bit disappointing. A lot of starts but only Smith and Maxi going on with it.

All 4 results are still viable.

India love this situation, they'll just bat and bat until the pitch starts to break up, by that time they've either reached parity or gine ahead. They then roll the opposition cheaply and win by an innings or chase down a small target.

450 though might just be enough to allow us to draw.
