Guptill doesn't seem to have it. Averages 235 vs. Bangladesh and 53 vs. Zimbabwe. Next best is 27 vs. Pakistan and it gets progressively bleaker from there.

All at sea vs. quality opposition. Flynn looked good in patches but was still a bit suspect.

BJ Watling could be an option when fit?

I also fear for the career of Williamson. Cannot recover when you're in a tailspin at 3 for not many. No mental strength.

I think Ronchi will walk straight in next January, his batting is a cut above most of your specialists.
You were saying.

He's a good bat young Williamson, still very young as well.

He got lucky today tbh and still continues to fish outside the off stump un-necessarily but was very good once passing 20. This should do him the world of good getting through what was some very good pace bowling today.

Harsh - chanceless centuries are just revisonist nonsense.. he made the most of it, it was a tough innings and he's been tough all series... this attack (Steyn, Philander and Morkel) is as good a pace attack as I can recall...

Great to see us show some ticker, that bowling attack was brutel. They were a class above, especially their bowlers compared to our batsmen.

I agree. It was his day yesterday and he made the most of it.

Nice ton from the kid under tremendous pressure..:clap:

What intrigues me is that Morkel is going nuts & we haven't had one post from Halla..:?
I'm sorry, I recently moved up to Queensland, haven't been finding time for LU, especially because I have been working full time:(. But of course I was going nuts for my man Morne:ls:. Even though I was actually working at the time, I was just all over whatever coverage I could get my hands on whilst I was working. It would have been great to see him take all ten (or 9 as the case may have had been), but I think we really needed someone else to take a wicket or two and it didn't help that Morne had to come off the field and I didn't like that Smith prematurely called it a day. Even if it still would have been a draw, another hour or so would have been good viewing

Pretty sure Smith called it a day something like 2 balls before the scheduled end didn't he?

I thought he did about an hour early. I wasn't watching at the time, but when I was able to read about it, that's the impression I got. Freaking hate working:(
