We could have set them 300 and they would have played for the draw. Makes me think we shoulda enforced the follow on

scintillating run rate, this is like watching paint dry

one way to kill time is to make runs

I for one cannot see what others apparently do in this pitch. It's not helping at all.

We're going to need some luck because if any team makes you earn their 10 wickets, it's this one.

Also, every single leaveable ball we bowl is a waste. These guys have more will power than the poms. Their eyes light up at a leaveable delivery in this situation.

Every single delivery should be threatening the stumps. Don't worry about straying onto the pads. Since they're not looking to score a ball on the pads is a lot more threatening than one a foot outside off.

We're giving them far too many freebies.

So the pitch is a road and SA needed to score at a tick over 3 an over to win. Instead, they play there perpetual role in reducing the popularity of test cricket by blocking or leaving every ball for a day and a half.

Guys like Sanga, pieterson, Taylor etc who are all in the same kind of class as de villiers would be still hitting the loose balls here and keeping one eye on the total, particularly with how easy the pitch is to bat on.

To be brutally honest, I'm disgusted with the way de villiers is batting. Good luck to him if he salvages the draw at the expense of the spirit of cricket.

They definitely need to look at ways to discourage tactics like this in test cricket if they want people to continue paying their hard earned to watch it.

Do you seriously think they could have chased this total? Nobody has done it in the history of cricket for a reason.

Should have declared at 450 infront, even 400. You simply cannot set a team over 500 and then complain when they're not going after it.

And you can't just blame them if this ends up being no result. We could have set them a total somewhere in the vicinity of the world record. If we did we'd have more time to get them out AND with them chasing a total it would make it easier to get them out.

If this ends up being a draw we also share part of the blame.

Yes I agree I complete dominated your argument. None of what you said made sense. Your criticism of them going for a draw from a position of 3-15 is the dumbest thing I've ever heard and we both know you wouldn't be saying the same thing if it was the other way around and we were in this situation.

Nice talking to you too.
