He was always planned to be rested for the Perth test. Five tests in seven weeks is a hard slog so we always planned to rotate the fast bowlers. Siddle isn't really suited as an into the wind bowler so with Hilfenhaus, Watson, and the two spinner's in the side to play that role it wasn't likely that he'd get many overs seeing as how Johnson is going to bowl 40 overs a day down breeze after Harris bowls his spell. You can't see his tats on the field, and Perth is a visible tats pitch. We weren't happy with his bowling in Adelaide so we're going to let him work with Troy Cooley for a week or two in the nets so that he can miraculously turn into a world class pace bowler in time for Melbourne. We wanted to have bowlers solely from the A-K phone book this time, L-Z's turn will be in Sydney. His teeth just aren't up to Test standard, whereas Johnson has a winning smile.
