you've never had a mass retirement before..you have no idea how it'll effect the team....
Yes we have multiple times, all throughout the Kangaroos history there have been times when all the players in the spine (and other positions in general) have all moved on with in a 12-36 month period. It happens about once every generation of footballers (so about once every 8-10 years).
australia is gonna lose its key players over the next year/18months...thats a fact....
Your having another case of wishful thinking!
There's little to no chance that we'll lose all the players in our current spine within the next year and a half.
Smith, Slater, Thurston and Cronk have at least 3-5 more seasons in them, if they want them and their body's hold up ( probably more if they're interested), I doubt very much that all of them will decide to retire within the next year and a half.
and with it australia are gonna lose the near telepathic understanding your 1,6,7 & 9 have....
That "near telepathic understanding" isn't anything new or unique, it's gained through regular play with or against each other, a general understanding of each others playing style and regular studying of each others playing style (something that players do before every game against each other these days). So are you suggesting that suddenly we'll start choosing different players in the spine every few games or so (after the transition period of course), or that we'll start picking players from the Super League again (none of whom could make the Australian side ATM anyway)?
the next 2 years are going to be very interestering thats for sure.....
Only in the way that we'll see the next spine start to come through, two of which are almost certain in GI and DCE, the other two are very much still up for grabs IMO.
