scrap 4 nations after world cup sure good for rlif development money but it would be better to have one off tests around test series involving big 3.
Proposed after 2013 world cup
2014: Kangaroo tour include 3 tests vs great britain also have one test vs france and wales.
Also play wigan, saints, leeds and bulls.
Kiwi have 2 test series vs aussies one in nrl season and one week after grand final.
2015:Kangaroos vs kiwis to play 3 test series during nrl season. England to play wales during superleague. Kiwis to tour europe with test series vs Great Britain and one off tests vs france and wales.
2016: Lions tour down under full test series vs kangaroos.
2017: Possible world cup for New Zealand.

Maybe before the Auckland Warriors the ARL should have played a couple of SOO games in New Zealand as i would rather at the mo see a NZ team play in the SOO then the 4 nations as i think International Rugby League aint going to grow much and also the SOO has become a boring format.

Why wouldn't people rate SoO as higher? It generates more crowds, more tv ratings and a higher match intensity. Even in New Zealand there is a similar level of interest in state of origin compared to international league. Hopefully the game will grow internationally and SoO will be overtaken but that isn't going to happen soon.

Those in power barely lift a finger to promote/grow international league. It would be embarassing if SOO didn't generate a better return.

This discussion shouldn't be about Origin Vs International, it should be about what can be done to at least bring them to even footing.

The Anzac Test is a perfect example of what's wrong with the promotion and growth of international league. It's barely promoted, the game itself is tacked onto the start of an NRL round, and most players have to fly out immediately after the game to back up in the next day or two. It's squeezed into the schedule and is made to looks less important than club football, let alone being given importance/promotion that's anywhere near SOO level.

I don't think we really need to tinker with SOO. We shold leave that as it is. It generates massive ratings, sponsorship and crowds. We could think of moving 1 game to NZ instead of Melbourne - this could be a coup for the game in NZ. Internationals will grow in profile as the game goes on.. right now the players are a little too matey for my liking.. we need a 2nd NZ team in the NRL ASAP.
