I am deeply disgusted that Nicola Sturgeon has yet to tweet any congratulations for the draw.

SCOTLAND are the talk of the Four Nations after their stunning draw with the Kiwis – and they also take the prize for the craziest punishment for a rugby league team!

My spies tell me players are fined £100 if they are caught wearing underwear under their kilts!

The players, who wear the traditional Scottish attire instead of suits before and after their matches, instead have to go ‘commando’!

The bigger point is...if we'd spread the game 50,60,70 years ago then teams today wouldn't have to be filled with heritage players..

Like it or lump it but its gonna take a couple of generations before we can talk of restricting heritage players

England couldn't even get a draw with NZ with its first choice players but Scotland did it with rejects and part timers.

Maybe England should have played them in Workington. Or to keep it consistent, Aberdeen.

The Scottish team is no different to the Samoan or Tongan teams everyone over here loves.
The difference, I'm guessing, is that the Islanders seem more 'authentic' because even as 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants there's a bigger cultural difference to Australia than Scotland and England. And, dare I say, skin colour.

Yeah but most Tongans and Samoans aren't relying on the GP rule. Most are parent rule players and some were born there. And they have a stronger connection to their culture as a result of this and the fact the culture is different. But then again, many are from Auckland and you could argue Polynesian culture isn't exactly foreign there. Maoris came from Samoa originally after all.

Tbh the bigger issue with Scotland is the worst domestic League in probably the top 20 ranked nations, more than relying on heritage players.

They couldn't put together a Scotland Residents team if they tried.

Maori originally came from Taiwan, interbred with some Melanesians along thier voyage before spreading throughout Polynesia.Linguistically Maori is closer to Tahitian & Cook Islands than Samoan.
