Harris actually looking more like a batsman today, rather than a human fly swatter

has played and missed only once so far that I have seen

Says more about the pitch than anything. Unless England absolutely shit the bed again you’d expect this one to end in a draw

Steve Waugh's last ball century > Warnies 700th

I had tickets to the next day, part of me wanted to see him wait until the next day - however, the absolute theatre of it, much better it happened then. But still saw Gilly made a ton, before England batted for a lot of the day and IIRC Vaughan had gone big (maybe even a centry from him too).

Living in Sydney, I had to listen to it on the radio as it was after 6pm and the news took precedence back then. But watching it back later that night... and still to this day, it is that and Bevan's last ball four against the Windies that still give me chills when I see it.

In terms of live sport, the only thing I have been at that remotely compares is when Beaver got his Grand Final try in 2008.

I was legit glued to the lounge for the last couple of hours of play that afternoon, one of the most memorable days of Test Cricket if you ask me.

Then I got in trouble from the old man because I told him I'd clean the pool but got distracted watching the Test 😂

England may have been unlucky with the odd ball, but you have to give credit to Warner and Harris for negotiating these stop-start conditions and still being there

How bloody archaic is the method of bringing the covers on in Australia?
They do have the Hover Covers nowadays though

The Hover Cover is currently used at:

  • Lords, London
  • Edgbaston, Birmingham
  • Trent Bridge, Nottingham
  • Glamorgan, Cardiff
  • Old Trafford, Manchester
  • Dakha, Bangladesh
  • Pune, India

Can anyone explain to me why the Lunch break needed to be taken? That was 40 minutes of playable conditions wasted after only 12 overs in the first session.
