Yep our top orders problems were all solved by dropping our best opener.

BM will be celebrating.
Not celebrating at all. Obviously any non geniused person knows Hughes should have been given a real go at the top of the order. Everyone knows Warner isn't good enough to be a test opener. After the 2nd test I said all I wanted was for Hughes to have the next 3 tests opening and if he didn't average 40 I'd never advocate for him to play tests ever again. But the selectors in their infinite wisdom thought Warner deserved a go after scoring runs once out of 4 goes on a road in Africa.

But am I celebrating? No. Because I know if Warner does get dropped the f**kwit selectors are more likely to promote Watson again instead of Hughes.

I've given up hope of Hughes playing tests in the forseable future. He's been made the scapegoat and won't be around for a long time if ever.
I dont understand why in conditions like these, batsmen don't do a Matty Hayden and stand outside the crease and force bowlers to change their length.
Because they don't have a fraction of the talent he had? They need every last millisecond of time to have any hope of doing something with each delivery.

One appeal stands for everything (that is, when the fielding side appeals they don't have to nominate a mode of dismissal), I expected that to stand, but I guess that it is different with reviews, precedence has been set now.

But the umpire gave him out for caught behind and not LBW

If the bat wasn't there the original decision would have been not out and thus same decision

He obviously watched his first ball of the series about 10 minutes ago.

If the scores were the other way around and England was batting and we copped that call I'd be the first one to say they got a call because they're losing.
