For discussions on the 4th Ashes Test starting on Friday. Once again another case of tests being played back to back.

I personally wanna see Brett Lee and Stuart Clark back in the Aussie team. We need some real firepower in there.

Also Andrew Flintoff is in doubt for the test as well.

This ground isnt one for spinners. SA killed the Poms at this ground last year, they took all 20 wickets via pace (Kallis 3 wickets), Paul Harris only bowled 15 overs for them for the match.

We HAVE to drop Hauritz for this test match if we are serious about bowling them out twice, no ifs and buts

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
North
Manou
Johnson
Lee (or Siddle)
Clark
Hilfy

I think Hussey saved himself.

They could drop him, move Clarke and North up and put Watson at 6 with Hughes opening but they won't.

At least there were some good signs from him in that second innings.

Clark MUST be there and I'd bring Lee back too if fit. Siddle and Hauritz to go.

Johnson did bowl better this Test and may have had more wickets if Rudi wasn't blind.

Doubt they will pick Clark, Ponting dislikes him for some reason. Maybe beacuse he can bowl :?

I take it that Brad Haddin is still injured since you've posted Graeme Manou

The occasional 50 in between numerous failures shouldn't be enough to keep Hussey in the side

The thing is, we lose this test its all over red rover
If Hussey is selected, and he will be, he HAS to deliver, otherwise piss him off for good. He is old and not delivering for a marquee player in the side

Bring in Haddin as a batsman to replace him for the 5th test, OR Bring in Hughes to open and Sunshine to bat at 5

The fine legs will still persist with hussey as captain though
Yeah Im a gluten for punishment I know :(

Looks about right although move Hussey down to 6. North has already done more than Hussey in his short career. Your number 4 and 5 have to be making 100s not 50s.

I hear Jonathan Trott has been called up (another South African). Haven't seen him play in a while but he carved up when playing for Otago a few seasons back.

that would make 4 south africans in their team if you include KP

they will play freddie if he is 90% fit imo, they need him desperately

Freddie will play, Headingly will be his last throw of the dice.It will depend on who gets the best of the bowling conditions IMO. Not much between the 2 sides.

If the ball swings then we should towel you up like we did at Lords. But if it doesn't then another draw could be in store...
