Good batting from North and Clarke especially, Watson and Punter did well too. This session promises to be a cracker...fresh fired up bowlers, nervous batsmen, Siddle on a hat trick...

No Lee=win

Best news is that we don't have to change the attack for the Oval, they have all performed. Johnson's ball to Collingwood was an absolute peach!

Broady 6 for 90 odd! Hell yes!

Yeah Johnson should be dropped no doubt about it... Full credit to the selectors for sticking by him he has returned to form. 3/21 and should have had Prior to if North took the catch. Aussies should finish the match off before lunch tomorrow.

North is in great form and deserves his spot. Clarke should be made captain now and moved up to bat at number 4.

Johnson ripped apart a middle order that were on a hiding to nothing in conditions that favoured the quicks. That's his job. Don't give us sarchasm along the lines of "yeah, Johnson should be dropped" because he came out and finally fired. It's taken 3.5 innings to do that. About time I say and well done.

As a Queenslander, I love seeing him fire though he has struggled in England up until he had everything in his favour. Whilst I am happy for him, he is as they say "not out of the woods". Will he fire in the final test? Let's hope so. He will keep his spot, let's see him lead us as he did so brilliantly in SA.

It's great to see Michael Clarke coming of age as a batsmen and leader in this team. It was a shame to see him fall short of a deserved 100. Well done to Marcus North, well played sir.

England look like the England that the Windies dismissed cheaply. No backbone. Their inspirational all-rounder is gone and with it their heart (barring Prior, pretty impressed with this guy).

We head to the final test 1-1 and in the box seat to retain the Ashes, I would be disappointed if we don't win the last Test but in the same sentence take the draw :D

Yet 1 good spell from Siddle is... Yep Mitch should have been dropped but Australia are not like England we show faith in our players. Who cares anyway Aussies are on the way to leveling the series. We are all on the same team here we are winning let us stick it up the poms. Also saying the conditions suited the quicks yep that reflects how many runs the Aussies made haha good one.

More showed how poor the English batsmen are in comparison to ours not to mention how poor their attack is minus Flintoff. Our bowlers took advantage of favourable conditions, England did not and could not.

Peter Siddle has bowled better than Johnson as a whole this Test series. That's a fact. Siddle has been a little unlucky and IMO should have more wickets to his name, but that's cricket, he has still performed well and deserved his spot. Carve that up anyway you like. Ponting lost faith in Johnson at stages this tour. Will that change? Let's hope so.

Siddle has 15 wickets at 28.40 from 117.4 overs and 426 runs - B/B 5/21

Johnson has 14 wickets at 33.85 from 120 overs and 474 runs - B/B 3/21*

Siddle will grab another 5 for today, wait and see :D

Loved Stuart Clarks little cameo with the bat, He is not as good as Johnson but every so often he can pile on a quick 30-40 pretty easily with some swash buckling batting :D

Good to see Johnson grab some wickets, probably saved him for the 5th test, cant drop him now

Im expecting us to win this just after lunch by 145 runs

Johnson finally showed his SA form, but Hilfy did the hard work getting the two openers. Hopefully he gets the chance to pick up a well deserved 5 for.

Lets face it the Poms without Flintoff and Pieterson are a pretty average side. But everyone will be pulling their dicks over the selectors and Pontings captaincy. This series should have been wrapped up well before this test match.......

Can't say I disagree.

We choked in the first test. Did as much when faced with some really good Test cricket in the second. Rained out the third. Easy win against a dishelved English team minus Flintoff and KP. This is why I said Johnson isn't out of the woods as yet. He performed, FINALLY, against a team on the ropes not handing bowler friendly conditions. Well done, about time.

Will he stand up to be counted in the final test when Ponting needs a wicket or two? We'll wait and see.

Yeah definately. He is swinging the ball finally, the ball is coming out nicely - the comparison between now and the first test is massive. Credit to Troy Cooley no doubt and his peers for amending the poor wrist position.

Can I make it clear - I am a big Johnson fan. Yeah, pissed off he left QLD for WA :)lol:) though I am a big fan. I just ain't going to say all is rosy for him when he has struggled and badly at that up until the last innings or two where signs are good.

Onward and upward hopefully.
