BM is back from my midnight quest into the heart of Newtown for food. I return home and we are 2 down. This is not good. We need Smiffy and Marnus to save us here. Just bat and bat and bat boys

You know what is great about life in 2023? I can get thai food delivered to me at 3am when I am drunk. Some pad thai, some fried race, some spring rolls. This makes dealing with this crap in the ashes so much easier.

Why you eating so late (or so early, whichever way you choose to look at it)?

When I think of surviving for a draw in a cricket match, this scorecard from the 1996 Sheffield Shield final immediately comes to mind:

Have a look at the number of balls the South Australian batsmen chewed up on day 5 (most notably Siddons and Brayshaw in the middle order) to secure the draw

those are some beautiful stats. Blewett 72 off 275 and that AFL footy show nuffy James Brayshaw chipping in with the 66. Epic

Yep. Why I brought attention specifically to this match is thanks to T20 cricket over the past decade or so, only a small % of batsmen nowdays in 4-5 day matches have the concentration to survive out 100+ balls when required.

Also, notable mention to the tail (May, McIntyre and George) who faced 21.1 overs between them.
