Handscomb's luck seems to have run out technique isn't everything but he's just horrible

Boyzzzz, watch me go back onto me stumps. They’ll never start bowling swinging half volleys. I learnt it from Gary the God of Yorkshire Ballance.

15 years ago I’m not even sure a player with such technical deficiencies would even be a regular in Sheffield Shield. He’d have been found out super quick.

Yeah, this is one of those rare occasione where you have to wonder if he'd have been better off not being picked.

Remember when Lehmann, Siddons, Love, Bevan, Hussey were just first class cricketers bashing runs for fun? Even Langer, Martyn and Hayden spent plenty of time playing Shield cricket because there was no way to break into that rock solid top 6. Now genuine plodders who’d have struggled to get in Shield teams are in there.

With an average of 32 this past shield season, not any time soon I'd expect.
Travis Head would have to be a chance though to replace Handscombe.

True dat. But I think Doolan plays better when the pressure is on. He’s a cool head. Experienced. He’s the Mark Lathwell/Darren Maddy of Australian cricket and right now that’s probably good enough.

That's almost enough for captain mate.

Guys like Stuart Law and Martin Love would stroll into this team.
Hell if they come out of retirement now they'd be half a chance. But that's been true for a while though.

Ian Harvey would bat at first drop. Sure, as we all know #8 is still the pivotal spot so we still have that problem to resolve. Maybe Peter McIntyre?

Happy Easter to you all :nerd:

I’m gonna go down a fantasy lane journey for moment

What do we think if we have to follow on , get a 150 lead and then end up winning this test aka India of 2001? Seems extreme I’ll admit, but I’m hanging onto that till the very painfull end

We played some dumb shots so far rather than any good bowling, get rid of that then we can get a little lead here and never know. We need to use the Justin Langer method, set little goals. Bat in 15min blocks, reasses and build another 15min etc...

A bit of pressure might get South Africa , 2-2 still no over just yet, though we certainly have our backs to a very solid concrete wall.

It's not terribly different from the other tests anyway and there were ICC suspensions regardless

Lol......take the world class bats out...

Get used to 12 months + of this.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a successful appeal.....
