Have faith with Aitken. If Bird is out, I'm sure Stu will go for Russ.

Dallalana is probably better suited to half back...Aitken for 5/8 and leave Hilder at lock that's definately his most effective position in the side.

Not sure about 5/8, but I think bailey's future is at lock especially with his wide running from centre last year, he could slide right in.

f**k it, let's thow Nutley in at five-eight, he rips every other position, why not 5/8?

Seriously though, does anybody consider Peachey an option at 5/8 with Simmons at the back? Or am I still dreamin?

I agree with you on two fronts here Max. Bailey is not a centre and Peach is worth a go at 5/8.
He plays the first receiver (second option from Kimmorley) in attack anyway.
Simmons or Merrit can play fullback.

Peach at 5/8 could work, but like the lockyer situation in Brisbane, it'll mean he'll have to make a hell of a lot more tackles, and might be too tired to weave his magic in attack. Could work. Could not. Let's see how Locks goes first.

thought I'd throw this into the mix, vagana could be an option, which would make room for franze and mcgoldrick in the centres, but would also mean kimmorley is our only real playmaker.

I cant go at moving peach away from fullback. Attacking ability aside (which is unquestioned), I reckon he is the best defensive fullback in the game. He stops more trys with 1 on 1's than ony other. The last line of defence is so important. Moving him wont create extra tries but will cost us some.

NO NO NO. Peachey is a fullback. Leave him there, he can play 5/8th in attack as much as he wants, but not in defence. That would ruin him IMO. Bird should get first crack, who knows he may have learnt a thing or two. He could be a real star if he pulled his head in a little and learnt how to tackle a little better.

Bird should get first crack

For the love of God
WHY should Bird get first crack?

He's done next to nothing, no, LESS than nothing for us since that final in 2002 where his ego erupted because someone put him through a gap and he ran several metres to score a try.

I'll tell you why. Potential. Loads of it! Thats reason number 1. Number 2 is that when he left Newie they were very angry, why?, because they didn't want to lose him, they new what they had just lost. They had him earmaked as a future knights star. Now we all know the depth that Newcastle possesses, he would have had to be good for them to get the poos about losing him. We havn't seen his best yet, thats all. Sure he is up himself, so what?! Shane Warne is up himself and he has done pretty well. Give him another chance, if he's still no good, ask for a refund.

BTW SS, can you change your Avatar, nothing personal, I've just had enough of looking at Rupert's wrinkles. You must have something better up your sleeve! :D

Well he shows this potential best in premier league

It wasnt so much the fact they lost Greg Bird. It was the fact two of their players got poached. Could have been anyone, they got pissed off. Personally I'd prefer Rudder!

I dont mind arrogance. This isnt tall poppy syndrome (he's not a tall poppy anyway). In some instances I admire arrogance. But to be allowed to rate yourself in my books you need to be good. That's the worry with him. He thinks he is the greatest already. He's absolutely awful. You reckon he's got potential - he needs to climb a mountain to get where he needs to be. HE already thinks he's at the top of the mountain - which is why he's the only 5/8 I can remember who doesnt pass the ball. He thinks he doesnt need to.

Give him another chance, if he's still no good, ask for a refund.
Again, I'd prefer to give him another chance in premier league

And yes, I think I probably can change the avatar, I'll look into it tonight or over the next few days.

The rest.

OK, you can have your opinion just like me, I reckon you might just get a surprise.
