5 captains.......Thoughts?

Maguire set up a 5 man leadership group for Wigan in his first season in 2010. It included the captain at the time, and our current captain.

We won the league that year. It can work.

It’s not for no reason. You need 1 captain. No problem with a “leadership group” but only one of them should be the captain.

Well he’s a natural brute and I’d say the old crazed adrenaline rush should materialise by round 3.

So a leave pass from me until he finds his inner turmoil and dissatisfaction with his upbringing manifesting in play.

But under your ambitious and interesting prediction, “brooksy and the captains” ( sounds like a rock band) aren’t going to take their impending demotion very well.

Under your model, thoughts of high rolling with Lee at the corporate events and being feted by kfc suppliers etc may not eventuate. There could be some unnecessary upset.

I can't give it to Hastings because I don't think we give the captaincy to a new player. Twal suffers from the same issue that Tamou suffers from in that they don't play enough minutes and might not make the top team.

I have no issues with the leadership group because the other options aren't very good. I do think Twal and Hastings are players that we need to have big seasons.

I wouldn't pick Tamou unless there are injuries. We need Hastings to be a prime form Andrew Johns.
