No offence to the Windies but their bowling attack is not their strong point. Yet our plodders make them look like Marshall, Ambrose, Garner, Holding are back.

Embarrassing yet again by the boys in wattyl yellow. This is a big chance for some blokes to show their WC credentials. Most are failing miserably. They have three games to make amends if CA gives it to em. Doubt Starc will get another start. 0/89 from his two games.. used to be a white ball weapon.. no longer. Like to see Swepson come in for Zampa who has also gone wicketless and conceded too many runs.

I would suggest that their batting line-up is stronger than their bowling line-up therefore batting is their strong point.

Would have given Marnus a gig here to see what he can do. Not sure we have both him and Smith in the same t20 side though for the world cup. Though Labs bowling can be more than useful with the ball

Looks like we are giving a few guys a run in this series to see if they put their hand up for the world cup squad.

The worry for Australia in the WC is the bowling. Cummins will boost the attack, but you'd think Starc, Hazlewood, Zampa and Christian/Agar would be playing most of the WC games and they haven't been great. Starc and Hazlewood in particular don't play much T20 cricket. There is definitely a lack of T20 specialists throughout Australia at present.

They've done well in domestic leagues so they wanted to see how they'd go and they've all collectively flopped

That is very true. Specially bowlers. Odd given that T20 is now almost 20 years old. You could count our specialist bowlers on one hand over that time. No wonder we have yet to win a world cup because we dont prioritise specialists for this format. Take a squiz at the Poms white ball teams.. very few Test players.

Like, CA seem to have a weird approach to it. They always want to have more and more T20 in the schedule, but at the same time we've never really treated it as much more than an exhibition in terms of selections?

The squads are always full of bit part cricketers, or pieces of shit like Wade, or misfiring Merkins like Starc...

The problem with our batsmen is that everyone wants to bat in the top 3. Finch who hasn't hit it off the square for about 2 years refuses to give anyone a chance and the selectors are to f**ked in the head to sack him. Then you've got Wade who openly says he should bat at the top because he's the keeper. Stoinis, Marsh are others who insist on batting in the top 3 and we've got no middle order players or hitters for the final overs.

Our bowlers are hacks because they're picked on what they do in the Big wank. Tye, that long haired hack Kane Richardson etc do well against club cricketers but are shit against anything else.

Then we've got guys like Starc and Hazelwood who barely play t20 thrust into the team.

I've got issues with the blokes who went to the IPL and then pulled out of this series because they didn't want to go into another bubble. I don't care who they are, they shouldn't be considered for the world cup. How are you meant to build team spirit when you know you're disposable when 'stars' who pick and choose which series they'll play replace you in the team come the world cup?
