Surely it’s time to f**k off Plodcroft???

Another quality selection by the brown nosed gnome.

Renshaw should never have been dropped, and Bancroft should have been eased in at 6.
The obsession with Marsh fked it up.

Writing Bancroft off now is ludicrous IMO, just as writing Renshaw off now would be.

Realistically I think he would benefit from the simplest piece of advice I've ever heard about batting...he just needs to tuck his back elbow in. Right now he's going with a back lift that takes the bat almost out to gully, they've dissected it ad nauseum this series but I don't necessarily think it's a hard fix. Tuck the back elbow against the body and it immediately straightens the back lift.

Until he sorts out his technique which as you say seems too easy to not too he will remain a walking wicket for a top quality bowler. I'd had to think what the Saffa's bowlers will do to him.

Yeah he should go back to Shield and work on it definitely, but I wouldn't be writing him off.

Problem is now who do we take to South Africa if the current situation continues? Bancroft needs work, Renshaw is in absymal form...Maybe Joe Burns?

Marsh averages 42 as an opener.
As much as I loathe to mention it.

We could do worse IMO. Burns was harshly treated he did hit 3 100's in his short test career. Plus he's in great form.

Also an option. He gets a lot of stick but he's a solid player, even if he is normally a downhill skier. Need to replace him in the middle though and Handscomb is still refusing to play front foot shots.

I like Burns tbh. He's probably never going to be a walk up Test player but he's more than handy. He had a rough two innings against SA out here last time but his best score is 170 in NZ (in a match where he scored 65 in the second dig too) so he's far from awful against the moving ball and he always showed a bit of grit.

Handscomb? Sigh.
Maxipad is obviously on the outer.

Who is putting their hand up ?
