If they move mid off out, Smith will hit every ball they bowl down there for four.

Clarke is on drugs

At least it'll change his thinking. Would be a good tactical option IMO. Clarke is bang on, 14 runs of 600+ through there indicates he's not as prolific in that area.

Better than hoping he's die for a failure like they seem to be doing

Been up to Mackay and Townsville quite a bit over the years. It’s just too hot for me.

Give me the Tweed Valley any day. Noosa and around there is nice but I could never afford it.

Just had a week over at North Stradbroke Island, I love the place and hopefully one day will be able to buy a place over there.

I love the humidity. Would live in SE Asia if I could.

It might get a but sticky but it keeps the actual heat down a bit. Two years living in Malaysia I never saw over 35 or 36 (and that was reasonably rare outside KL). Canberra gets at least a week around or over 40 every summer

Don’t understand why people would fork out a hundred odd for a ticket and stand around out the back of the ground.

Not necessarily. It is not an indication of his capability to score runs in that area just that he hasn't in this series.

That could be because he has hit the straight ones through the on side or wide of cover where the gap was instead.

I'm absolute certain if they took mid off out he would hit everything he could down there. If you overpitch without a mid off its 4 runs every time

Even handscombe would drive you through there all day

After 600 runs I'd be prepared to try some new things tho. I'd be prepared to leg side field him and have spinners bowl outside leg to him and leave him on 70* like Giles did to Tendulkar.

Well firstly I didn't say he wasn't capable, just that he wasn't being as prolific, for whatever reason.

Secondly, you would need a bowling plan that matched the field setting. Obviously if you take out mid off but bowl off stump half volleys even Josh Hazlewood is going to cream you through there.

It's better than letting him more than likely drift his way to another 50+ score by doing the same things he's been doing for two years now. Take a risk, make him change his approach. What's the worst that happens? It fails and you put mid off back after three or four overs.

Bill was once one of the best callers but like Rabs he is senile and well past. He seriously thought that was a catch.

Rabs was once one of the best.

Lawry was just good punchlines for the 12th man.

Greig and Benaud were simply outstanding. Two of the best ever, if not with Ian Bishop the very best. RIP

I don't know much about Trueman - apparently with Aggers he was good value. I do like Gower, Lloyd and even Bitham tho.

A bit left field but remember a commentator named Navjot Singh? I think he was around in early 2000's, absolute character and funny bloke to boot. Really enjoyed his commentary
