He really has solved Australia’s spin bowling Lyon. I read Michael Hussey’s autobiography last year (great read btw) and he said when Lyon came into the team Huss begged the selectors to keep Lyon in the team because he feared that they were going to drop him because he wasn’t in Warne’s class.

By god this is an awful England team. That's terrible. Why is he playing back? They've got blokes who are either old and past it (one Cook innings aside, he's included), or inexperienced and with serious question marks on them. And Root on this tour has been disgraceful. Smith has bashed centuries all over the joint. When Williamson and Kohli last came to Australia they got runs. Root, he has a poor conversion rate, and that dismissal late on day one suggests a mentally weak character. And I still say, England have got away with a bits and pieces plodder as their front line spinner for far too long.

Bleak times ahead for England. The only bloke for mine who can hold his head high is Malan.

We get another wicket tonight it'll bring in Moeen the great hahaha..........

Overton seems like a positive too.....

I think Bairstow needs to be left in the top 6 somewhere too...

Giving him the team song was a great move on Huss' part, basically forced their hand.

Some of their debutants have had their moments but yeah they have been well beaten in this series. Fancy having the Marsh brothers smash centuries against you. I feel Mason Crane should get a crack in the next series England have. He did bowl some good deliveries from what I saw yesterday, 1 test isn’t enough to judge a 20 year old. Not having Stokes really f**ked them up as well.
