5TH ASHES TEST: @ The Oval London July 26-30, 2023

It amazes me how we continually never learn.

Playing Starc, Cummins and Haze in all 4 tests against India in 2021 cost us the series and the gabba record. They were cooked by the gabba test and similar here.

One of them had to be left out and we needed some fresher legs with the ball.

The 3 all have great test records but how many away series have they won us.

Pakistan last year and a WTC final.

Everywhere else has been zilch since 2016 in NZ where Cummins and starc weren't even playing.

Broad retiring after this test, pay your respects.
Dear Stuart

What a great career you have had from being a cheat to then being a scared little bitch with the bat who had the yips when it came to facing bouncers.

Who could forget the bullying the likes of yourself, Jimmy, Swanny used to give poor old KP when he was playing.

And being the last wicket of the hat-trick for Peter Siddle at the gabba on his birthday.

Oh it's a shame an injury during the 2nd test in 2010/11 ashes series meant you missed out on England's famous wins in Melbourne and Sydney that summer. England's only triumph in the past 40 years down under.

Then there is the ODI team how much better have England become since you got punted from that side in 2015 disaster. England tied a WC win in 2019 without you being apart of any of it.

Enjoy retirement Stuart just don't become a dickhead match referee like your father.

This series has been a bigger failure than 2019.

Our tactics have sucked, our captain is clueless, our bowlers have had to bowl to shit plans and fields and our batsmen have been hit and miss.

But we've still got the Ashes and England still couldn't stop slobbing their own McCullum shaped knobs long enough to beat us so I'd say it's been a great success

This Ashes series started to go downhill for us the day the Bald Adonis tore his mighty calf muscle.

Also:
Cummins captaincy and the influence the coaches have had on field placements and tactics have been putrid. Cummins days as captain should be numbered and Vettori and McDonald have to be accountable for some ridiculous advice.

The insistence on picking Warner despite his poor form has affected this team. He should be punted, you can have your farewell test with Candace at home in front of your OLED.

Lyon has been ridiculed, and deservedly so, at times but we have missed him. The way Murphy has been handled has also been poor.

Green needs to be managed better. He is an awesome talent but he is playing way too much cricket and he doesn't look fit. Needs to lose weight.

The pace bowlers should have been rotated better and Neser should have played somewhere. I'm not a fan of rotation but when you're jamming 6 tests in such a short time frame you have to manage your bowlers better.

Our fielding is below par, from our slips fielding through to our ground fielding. Green is excellent at gully but even Smith has gone downhill in the slips. Far too many plodders to hide these days too. We have lost the edge we used to have over teams.

You could argue sticking with warner has cost us winning the last 2 ashes series in England.

Carrying a opening batsman who has scored just 2 fifties in 19 innings across the 2 series averaging 16 across both series is deadset disgusting compared to the treatment others have copped in there careers with better records.

Hard to argue

This was supposed to be the legacy tour for this core group of senior players.

When you go through there records and the series we have won outside of Australia it's pretty grim.

Since the Michael Clarke era ended in 2015.

We have won 2 test series on the road.

NZ in 2016
Pakistan in 2022

Just 2 away series wins in 8 years this group has underachieved massively considering there records are topped up by flat track bullying opponents at home.

Big total to chase.

But possible. They have no Moeen and they must be tired, particularly Broad and Anderson.

Will be Warner's last test innings in England. A quick fire 50 please.
