These India games are contractual obligations.

Bbl is current focus and we've rested the rest for the NZ tourr, which I for one, cannot wait for.

Aussies did their job, won the series. Bring on the cuzs.

How devastated did he look. He looked like a sad dog lol. I felt for him.

Also how much louder are indian supporters. If i was in your section id have gone deaf.

He looked shattered.
yeah it was crazy loud where I was. Right where all the Indian fans kept starting the Mexican Wave.

Gotta say I am pretty disappointed in the security and Police at the game last night. If you were watching on TV you would have seen a large group of guys all wearing pink and holding a sign that said 'Pigeon's Pinks' or something similar. With about 10 overs to go they were all kicked out of the ground, every single one of them, not for being abusive or aggressive, not for fighting and not even for being drunk but for making a small-medium sized beer snake. That's right, 1 beer snake meant this large group of fans were kicked out in their entirety.

Oh i was in the top section of the vt stand and everyone was booing and looking down but i couldnt see what was going on. Thaf explains it

Yeah they are pretty over the top in australia. I thought those guys were great. One of them threw a pink hat to michael clarke when he drove by lol

They were fantastic. And it's not like they had been causing trouble throughout the match or anything. I've never understood what the problem with Beer Snakes is, if anything they make it easier for the cleaner. Certainly doesn't seem like a good reason to kick a group of over 50 people out.

Shame the world record streak has come to an end, but it was always going to be a tough ask whitewashing the world's #2 ranked side in a 5 match series without our top four or so bowlers. Made for some close matches though!

But it doesn't count for anything because according to our friends from over the ditch our fielding is horrible.

serviceable/decent through to shit.... still world champs

hard to believe that we beat them 4-1 with such a bunch of nuffies

I would like to see what we can do with a full strength bowling attack

Yes. It has. I have even commented on it before on this forum.

Warner, according to the commentators is your best fieldsman. He's good, but he is not a 'freak' in the field.

Maxwell is sharp in the field. Possibly your best fieldsman.

The rest of your team are range from ordinary to bog ordinary, or worse.
yeah. Steve Smith is a quality fieldsman. After those three the drop off is sharp. Warner is definitely quality but compared to our greats (punter and Symonds) we don't hit the stumps like we once did, hurt run out chances.

Pretty hard for it to be in an incline when in the past our fielding has included the likes of:
Gilchrist
Warne
Ponting
Symonds
Clarke
In tests at least Nevills keeping has been pretty damn good so far. Gilly was a reasonably good keeper but his bat was his best asset. Warne also could put a catch doen in the slips. Punter, Symonds, Clarke and also Hayden in slip were fantastic fieldsman though, and Taylor and M Waugh before that

Bout time we lost, bowling has been pretty horrendous this series. Missing Starc big time with the white ball. Hazlewood is reasonable also and Patto isn't really there yet as an ODI bowler, but would be better than Boland. Behrendorf is another to keep an eye on for these games.

Faulkner was shithouse also, which IMO probably points to the importance of Starc and Haze (and previously MJ) to his own performance. when they don't have to hit out at him (because they are smacking the others around) not much going on for him.

just reviewing the game, f**k me India had some luck didn't they

let's start with Finch, was their 4 stumps? that was a f**king horrendous decision, I know there wasn't a shot offered but to give that out and give Dhoni not out in the same game when it pitched in line and was hitting middle half way up? yeah okay, not getting the 50/50's apparently

the 2 dropped catches, I have seen under 12's catch those

people will say that Dhoni staying at the crease kept us in the game but I disagree, get him out, get into Mann (who is relatively new, 2 new heads at the crease) and then Jadeja and all of a sudden it's ours to lose

to me any series India plays in will always have an asterix until they agree to use DRS like everyone else in the cricketing world, they're currently the powerhouse nation in world cricket and they administrate the game accordingly, it should never have been an option.. it should be all in, or none at all, none of this multiple choice when other countries are using it

Even if there is a choice Australia as the host nation should be the one to decide.
But i agree, piss the choice off altogether and make it compulsory. If you back your team to be good enough you shouldn't have a problem using DRS.

Funny thing is no country has batsmen blow up at decisions more than India, look at Sharma last night stick around for an age after being given out on 99.

Steve Smith has dropped plenty of sitters and harder catches in the slips this summer. He is having a shocking time in the field. See his missed one handed grab at ground fielding at mid on the other night? He has done good run outs in the past, and probably some good catches, but his consistency is way below the higher quality players.

Gilly could stump off McGrath, so safe to say he was useful at very least.

As JJ said, Australia used to set the world standard of fielding.

It is fair to say that the quality of Australian fielding has declined significantly in recent times.

Re Smith - a shit summer doesn't cancel an otherwise very good record as a fieldsman. If it's ongoing then it's a concern, but occasionally you just have a rough trot.

And I generally agree that our fielding has gone way way south - just that Nev Warner and Smith are perfectly decent - quite good fieldsman. Beyond that we're really bad.

He pulled off an amazing bit of outfielding just last night. He isnt the best slips fielder (although he will improve) but is forced in there because the icc for some weird reason expects captains to also umpire the game

NZ is doing a similar thing with KW's captaincy, albeit not into the slips.

He has gone from gully and point where he pulls in absolute screamers, to the level of making ESPN USA top play of the day, to fielding at McCullum's mid off position, so as to captain the bowlers.

He has taken a good catch at mid on, and a run out, but overall I feel as though his fielding ability is wasted a bit being moved due to captaincy.

Still, new captain, gotta let the bowlers know he is there to help and guide them.
