They cover some whole grounds in England too. I have to say that some of the cover systems used in Australia are antiquated. We have been known in the past too knock poor countries like India and Guyana for their ground staff and the way they protect pictures but we still rely on the tarp, tractor and a few bits of four by two to hold it down method.

In Clarkes defence, he was a long way down the pitch. If you watch the replay again, he was a good six inches outside his crease in his stance and he took a giant leap forward on top of that.

Nowadays, this doesn't seem to matter so much anymore because the technology removes that element of doubt but he would have known that he got a good way down the pitch. If he'd have been at the Wacca or the MCG he'd have had a good case. At the SCG, not so much.

It was a greedy referral of Shane Watson like proportions.

The system is there to be used for batsmen who 110% know they should not have been given out. ie David Warners decision.

Its not there to be used as a tool to try and win back a 50/50 decision. Clarke abused that yesterday and after questioning a decision like that, Australia did not deserve the right to question the umpires again.

AUSTRALIA'S horrible one-day campaign went from bad to worse with captain Michael Clarke rolling his ankle at training this morning.
Cricket Australia has said the skipper is in serious doubt for tomorrow’s clash with Sri Lanka at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena.

While George Bailey can take over the reigns as captain, having led the side in the first two games, there are no other specialist batsmen in the 13-man squad

On George we rely.

Boo f**king hoo.

David Warner was not given the chance to review his decision because the players are abusing the system. If the DRS had of been used correctly yesterday both Warner & Henriques's decisions would have been overturned.

The system is in place for absolute howlers and through misuse the privilege was removed from the Australias because they abused it. Clarkes dismissal was never a bad desicion and he did not have the right to question the umpires decision. Had he have just walked of the field and accepted the decision Warner and Henriques both would have had the chance to review.

Now i have to read about how flawed the system is and how bad the umpires were yesterday. Bad decisions happen. Its human error. Use the system the way it is intended and it works.

I agree with this. Mark Taylor is way off the mark.

I don't mean to suggest anything too outrageous but how about calling in another batsman?

It's a home series ffs not a series being played on the other side of the world

Didn't Mussey retire from all forms? Surely he isn't still available for ODI selection, because if he is then that is just geniused.

Pretty sure he said he was happy to play the ODI's this summer

Wasn't picked for the ODI's because the selectors had an eye on the next World Cup yet picked Brad Haddin to replace Wade

Ridiculous. Building for the next world cup is a very weak excuse to field a team like this one, they would not have been 74 all out with M.Hussey in the team. What the hell is going on with Cricket Australia's administration, what a farce.
