I don’t think there is anyone else who is a genuine option (or at least knocking the on the door to be an irresistible selection) but it might be time to take a punt on a slightly more stoic left handed opener to be Tango to Konsta’s attacking right handed Cash.

The irony in all this is, India often we’re labelled demure, subservient, lazy in the field, and it wasn’t until Aussies got in to IPL, playing and coaching, and a lot more golden boys have academies in India than Australia, that guys like Kohli became more abrasive, their attitudes to being winners changed, and their fielding changed too - the laziness gone. So thanks to our Golden greats, India have actually become stronger.

I’ve watched him through the juniors. Even watch his Aust A game vs India. He’s a serious prospect but this is a different kind of Sam the past two weeks. Time will tell once he settles.

There was no indication or talk in the lead up to his debut that he would play this way. It's clearly a game plan specifically to counter Bumrah.
