4-2 series win

This last game a day nighter starts 8pm AEST Wednesday night

We will probably rest a couple of players that will play in the Nov 26 test. Maybe Hussey and Watson?

Surely we cant win 4 in a row with all the injuires and resting? :)

I'd open with Hussey and rest Watson. Give Hauritz a break and probably rest Johnson again. Give Ronnie a trundle and Hilfy another go I guess. Possibly play 2 spinners but I doubt Punter would enjoy that

Give Cockley a debut, see what he's got. We know Ronnie is a mong, no need to have another look

Stuff Cockley he should not even be in India.... Macca has talent it is just a shame he is a red headed Victorian.

Watson should be rested, they can open with Manou for 1 game and Ronnie can bat at 7.

Holland to play for Hauritz as well and maybe Hilfy for McKay.

Agree with the sentiments on Watson. Given his history with injury he should be given every break possible

if Notch bats for 40 to 45 overs or more he'll be too knackered to bowl

he is picked as a bowler and I cant see the experiment happening

If he bats for that long he won't need to bowl when we are defending 400++

I prefer openers who can build an innings and get to a ton and others can play around him, like Marsh did the other night.

Using a part timer at the top can be hit and miss and if he cant bat for long periods of time we are gonna be one for jack sh*t all the time

not for me thanks

It is only for one game to see how he goes. Would be good to see him in full flight again. I want him to hit it back at Harby and make him bleed.

Yeah, Mitch is a bowler who can bat. Opening up is out of the question IMO, he's not at that level. A better experiment would be to have him at maybe 5 or 6, where he could realistically bat one day. He's not going to build an innings, nor is he likely to hang in there for 35 overs or more.

who wants him to build an innings or bat till the 35th over? ;-) Marsh is there for that.

Send him in with one mission, blast as many as you can in the first 10-15 overs when the field is in. He gets out in the first over, no worries. The guy has an eagle eye and can hit the ball as good as anyone. On batting roads, would be interesting to see how he goes

Doubt he will get too tired after 10-15 overs, ask Locky he is very well toned and smooth

Finally somebody sees sense... Johnson would open to get quick runs not bat 50 overs. If Johnson batted till the 15th over we would be well on our way t0 300.

Depending if the pitch is a road, I can see value in putting Johnson in while the field is up in the opening overs. If not him than Manou for the same reason. But I dare say that if Watson is rested then Ponting will open with Marsh.
