Why are people claiming the one off payment of $8 million to relocate to the central coast is meant to be the saviour of South Sydney when in reality after 4 years at Telstra they will earn nearly $5 million and if they were to re-sign for another period this would nullify the short term gain of $8 million.

With a competitive team they could easily at least be averaging 16,000.

Do you honestly think Souths are going to draw 6000 fans a game for the next couple of years. We should be more worried about the crowds Melbourne are going to draw when they hit the longer rungs of the table. A winning Melbourne team gets 8-10,000 a winning Souths team would get 18-25,000.

Souths play in the biggest Rugby League city in the world in a great stadium and get alot of media exposure.



And they still cant draw a crowd.


If Melbourne had all of that in Melbourne they'd be drawing 40,000+ live their afl teams do.

But your not counting any monies they would get by playing at the Central Coast, even if it's half the money they would get by playing out of telstra then they would still be far better off taking the $8million. Thats not including extra merchanidise sales etc that they would get by entering a new market.

I reckon they should go to the Central Coast.

I go most weeks, I travelled an hour and half to Brookvale to watch that farce 3 weeks ago.
