I couldn't believe Baptista missed that free header in the first half!!!

Our season seems to have gone full circle in terms of taking chances in front of goal.

Agreed.

The Blackburn game should have been well and over at Emirates, we had THAT many chances.

I also blame Macca_ for his lack of updates;)

Been a problem for a little while now.

We can create so much but don't get enough goals.

Couple of reasons for that...

Our 2 leading scored (Van Persie and Henry) have had decent stints on the sideline with injury. They also haven't had a lot of games together this season.

Adebayor whilst nabbing some crucial goals hasn't got a lot and Baptista hasn't set the world on fire. He needs a true front man to play with. Aliadiere for all his effort simply doesn't score enough either.

Goals from midfield is the other issue. When Pires and Fred were at their peak, we got double figures from them. Not getting enough there as yet. Tomas looks likely. Hleb maybe not so and Fabba needs to chip in. He's at least shooting a bit more now.

Would be great to see Theo kick on next season and give us another option in the department. Diaby also looks the goods and Denilson has shown he can pull the trigger.

Want to see more of Van P and TH together. Not going to happen this season though.

And they'll manage to f**k it up again.

See the Carling Cup semi, "2 nil and you f**ked it up" :D

Or last season vs West Ham with a CL spot on the line :D

They keep things ammusing.

is theo gonna play this weekend guys?
Not sure Fish. I read that Henry and Rosicky may be out for 3 and 2 weeks, but not sure how solid that was...

He came off the bench vs Rovers, so may be involved down the flank vs Reading.

With PSV next week, Wenger will want to be as strong as possible for that game. Don't think he'll throw Theo into it with Freddi and Hleb available. So he may get the nod vs Reading...

Fabregas and Djourou set to return for Reading visit
Arsenal v Reading
Barclays Premiership
Emirates Stadium
Sat, Mar 3, 2007, 3pm
By Richard Clarke

Arsène Wenger will welcome back Cesc Fabregas and Johan Djourou for the visit of Reading on Saturday however the Arsenal manager is still suffering from a considerable injury headache.

Tomas Rosicky and Thierry Henry are both set to miss out at the weekend. More significantly, the Czech midfielder’s groin problem will keep him on the sidelines for the crucial Champions League tie with PSV on Wednesday. The French striker is also classed as “a doubt” for the game.

“Saturday looks to me very short for all of the injured players,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday afternoon. “The only one who could return is Johan Djourou (ankle). Cesc Fabregas will come back after he was rested at Blackburn but we lost Emmanuel Eboue [at Blackburn] with an ankle injury.”

The Ivorian right back will be missing for the next three domestic games anyway after his appeal against an FA charge was dismissed an hour or so after the Arsenal manager spoke at the Club’s training ground.

The bans picked up by Adebayor and Toure from the Carling Cup Final will also count on Saturday but not in the Champions League. That is a relief to Wenger given that his side trail PSV 1-0 from the Knockout Round first leg and he may be missing two of his most inventive players next Wednesday.

“Tomas will be out for the PSV game and Thierry is a doubt,” said Wenger. “We will try our best to get him fit but at the moment it is impossible to say. The suspended players will be back for this game so Adebayor and Toure will play. Maybe Abou Diaby will be back too.”

For the record the full list of absentees for Saturday’s game is: Adebayor, Eboue, Toure (all suspended), Henry (foot), Rosicky (groin), Diaby (ankle), Justin Hoyte (hamstring), Mathieu Flamini (foot) and Robin van Persie (foot).

http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?...=Rosicky+is+Arsenal.com's+Player+of+the+Month
Rosicky is Arsenal.com's Player of the Month
Tomas Rosicky has been named as Arsenal.com's Player of the Month for February, receiving 23.09 per cent of the votes cast in our official poll.

The highlight of Rosicky's month was his first Premiership goal - the winner in a 2-1 victory over Wigan at Emirates Stadium. After Denny Landzaat had fired a fantastic opener for the visitors, Fitz Hall put through his own net to level the scores with just nine minutes remaining. There was still time however for the Czech midfielder to meet a Julio Baptista cross with a powerful header to complete another amazing Arsenal comeback.

The 26-year-old also starred in the 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough and helped the Gunners progress to the Fifth Round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 replay victory at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.

Despite his best efforts the Czech international couldn't prevent a goalless draw in the next round against Blackburn at Emirates Stadium and was then rested when a youthful Gunners side were knocked out in the replay at Ewood Park.

In the Champions League he played 69 minutes of the 1-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven while in the Carling Cup Final he was rested to make way for Arsène Wenger's young Gunners.

One of those Carling Cup youngsters, Denilson, finished second in our February poll after a string of outstanding displays which suggest he is yet another quality capture by Arsenal's manager. The 19-year-old Brazilian grew in stature throughout the Carling Cup competition and didn't deserve to be on the losing side after an assured 90 minutes in the Final.

Cesc Fabregas claimed third place after another consistent month in midfield. The Spaniard was particularly impressive against Chelsea in Cardiff.
