Yeah Gilbs may not play at the level we want.

And if Diaby and Gilbs are in doubt then who do we have for the middle.

It would be this.

-------------Almunia---------------
--Sagna-Toure-Gallas-Clichy--
-Eboue-Denilson-Diarra-Rosicky-
--------Walcott-Adebayor---------

The only concern I have is the running of midfield.

Denno is capable but is still young and Diarra is new so...

That would be the advantage of Gilberto.

MIDFIELD POSERS FOR WENGER

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger faces a selection crisis in midfield as he prepares his Barclays Premier League leaders for Saturday's visit of struggling Wigan.

The Gunners were already without the suspended Cesc Fabregas, and the international break has not been kind.

Alex Hleb has picked up a hamstring problem which could keep the Belarus winger out for up to a month, while Mathieu Flamini injured his thigh on duty with France, when he made his international debut.

Abou Diaby is also struggling with a back problem and experienced Brazilian Gilberto faces a long return trip from South America.

The Arsenal manager admits he will have to utilise his squad to the full, so the likes of Denilson and Lassana Diarra are set to be in contention as the Gunners look to extend their unbeaten run to 28 games.

Wenger told www.arsenal.com: "Hleb came back with a hamstring injury, so once again we lose someone during this [international] period. I think he'll be out for 21 days.

"Flamini came back with a little thigh problem too. That will be one week maximum."

Wenger added: "Gilberto will return very, very late. In fact he only comes back on Friday. So, as for the rest of the squad, we'll see."

Defender Philippe Senderos (back) is available again, but Robin van Persie will not be in contention as he continues rehabilitation on a knee problem.

Young Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner is pressing for a recall following an impressive international break, when a second goal in five days during the comfortable 3-0 win over Iceland having also been on target against Northern Ireland.

Theo Walcott impressed for the England Under-21s away to Portugal in what was one highlight for the national set-up this week.

The Gunners, and boss Wenger in particular, have often been criticised for the lack of domestic talent in their squad.

Full-back Gael Clichy, though, maintains restricting the number of foreigners in English football would not necessarily be beneficial.

"The nationality is not the main important thing, it is just the quality you want your team to play," said the Frenchman.

"The boss has made something great here, the way we like to entertain people, and I am sure that it doesn't matter for him.

"If you have to see about a player if they are English, French or Spanish, if he has the quality he will be in his team, and if not he won't be in his team. Let the manager do the job."

Clichy told Arsenal TV Online: "I think everyone is proud to say they play in the best league in the world because with all the players here, and the English players, we are making something good."

Breaks everything down really. No RVP.

We'll see.

Shifting Rosicky into the middle of the park where he plays his best football IMO. Would also be a steadying influence and reduce the pressure on Denilson to try and make up for Fabregas' void.

Shifting Walcott to LM would give the right side Wigan defence nightmares, with two fast flankers in Clichy and Walcott running at them all game. This also allows Bendtner more game time and more opportunities to improve.

Kinda glad gilberto is out, he doesnt suit the way we play nowadays. Cant pass the ball to save his life. Time for Diarra to step up, he will be cesc's long term partner. Team will look something like this:

Almunia
Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy
Eboue/Walcott Diarra Denilson Rosicky
Adebayor Eduardo/Walcott

Walcott on the left

That won't happen mate. Sorry to tell you. However I do like the idea of Rosicky in the middle. Take the pressure off Denno. But I think Diarra will partner him there. Maybe we could play like this.

Almunia
Eboue-Toure-Gallas-Sagna
Walcott-Denilson-Rosicky-Clichy-
Bendtner-Adebayor

Clichy on the left of midfield would work IMO but I'd rather him be playing at LB. I think this will be the squad.

I think i've seen Walcott play LM, though he could have just been there for that passage of play i saw.. but he could be an effective flanker and as Eboue is quite capable of playing RM i put Walcott on the left.

The back 4 wont change. Rosicky will stay on the left and so he should when we have current france international Diarra waiting in the wings to dominate midfield. Hope its Walcott right and Eduardo up front. Eboue can take a spot on the bench.

Average first half.

Not sure if playing two inexperienced players together in the middle is the best, I would be alot more comfortable if Tomas started next to Denilson. Both Denilson and Lassana are more so hold and play type midfielder s. Where as Fab has a more eccentric and creative game whilst still possessing that hold and pass game.

Not forgetting the influence of Hleb as well.

HT changes :

* Eduardo > Diarra - Play in him a more attacking midfield role perhaps, gives another attacking option in the middle of the park.

We're definitely missing Gilbs too, at least he would be able to hold the hand of Denilson in the middle. Both Denno and Diarra look a bit hesitant at times.

Walcott is having a stormer, very impressive.

Second half was much better.

My team was 100% right :D

Wigan played fairly cleverly. They were congesting midfield which really cut down our passing game. Clever stuff.

We still managed to mount some attacks but all of which just came to nothing.

Heskey is a dirty son of a b*tch. Walcott was on fire in this game and Heskey's only intention was to injure him.

Rosicky's goal was all class. I know so many players who would have fluffed that oppurtunity.

And Gallas' goal was cleverly taken as well.

A good win and we NEEDED to take advantage of Man U's slip up.

MOM: Theo and Gallas. Both had great games.

Also Denilson and Diarra. They were both to inexperienced. As mentioned above somewhere were very hesitant on the ball. Anyway good to give them some match time. Something for them to build on.

Also hope Walcott isn't to bad.
